The witch who the voice belonged to looked around, expecting at least one of us to buy some of the food she was pushing around on her service trolley. Of course we didn't disappoint her- just a few minutes later our table was filled with probably a bit to many sweets for just three people. Most of them sponsored by me, or to be more accurate, by my parents and the money they gave me for the journey to "buy myself friends" in Will's words. He was probably right.
The train headed north, and the landscape more and more started to look like on the pictures of Hogwarts they put in the history books. Also it had started to rain which Serena just commented with : "Oh well, good old Scottish weather"
"I hope we won't have weather like this in Hogwarts all time", Will an the other hand complained, "I want to fly while playing Quiddicht, not swim."
"Don't worry, sure you won't drown....still, it's already afternoon so actually we should arrive soon", I replied to his 'serious' worries.
Serena was still looking outside the window: "I know! To be honest I start getting exited already...I hope the people will be nice!"
"Sure they will as long as you won't introduce yourself by throwing owl's"
"You know what Will, get over it or I am going to throw something else "
"Back to serious and before you kill each other," I interrupted the rising 'conflict', "What do you two think: which houses will you be sorted in ?"
Serena turned away from the window: "Houses? The Gryffindor- Rawenclaw-Hufflepuff-Slytherin thing? Like where Gryffindors are the brave, Rawenclaw the smart, Hufflepuff the caring and Slytherin the bad guy ones? I mean, that's what I could figure out until now"
I nodded: "Well, if you want you can say it like this". Sure, the evil ones. It was funny, of course, but not with the background that my chances were high to be sorted in 'the evil ones' house. Anyway, I should stop being so sorry for myself.
"Never heard such a great description of the houses", Will admitted before continued to answer my question.
"And I hope to be in Gryffindor, I mean all my familie was there...everything else would probably be a disappointment. Just like some of my friends who already are in the second year on Hogwarts now. I would be fine with an other house as well...just Slytherin...rather not"
"I wouldn't find Slytherin that bad at all", Serena disagreed, "Probably just because people would start taking me serious". She sighed "But it's very likely I am just going to end up in Hufflepuff."
"Don't worry, we all have great respect for you, no matter which house you will be in since you are so threatening", our humour king of the journey obviously had to tease her.
"But what about you, Dracy? Which house are you going to be in?"
"I honestly have no idea, but probably-"
"HOGWARTS!" Serena suddenly screamed "look, outside the window!"
I turned my head around as fast a I could. She was right. Above a sea of dark green trees, hidden in some grey clouds, the majestic castle was standing up a cliff. It was the first time for me to see it 'in real' and not just on a picture.
"Wow" I couldn't help but whisper "it's beautiful"
To a stranger, the situation must have looked funny: the three of us, pressing our noses against the window only to see a bit more of the old castle. Only that it wasn't just an old castle, but Hogwarts, our future home and school for the next year.
"Yes it is", Will whispered back "And we are nearly there"
The train slows down, just as if it would want to underline the magic lying in this moment of our arrival at the most famous building in the whole wizard world. Well, and obviously because were getting closer to ...."There! The train station". Just as Serena pointed out this fact, the engines stoped, and we came to stand. "Time to leave", I grabed my belongings, just as my friends. A thing quite funny to watch, since Serena was disappearing behind a wall of books again. "Are you sure that it is a good idea that you carry all your stuff alone?"
"Yeah, sure, why not?"
"Probably because it worked so amazingly well the first time? Just let me take of your books, I still got storage left"
"....well, thanks. Here you go....those books are way to heavy"
"They not heavy, you are just weak", Will apparently thought it was necessary that he would enter the discussion.
"Well id you are so strong, help carring", was Serenas response, together with handing him all the remaining books. "Let's go people".
Together, we step on the trains hallway, where the doors open for us and all the other students to leave into the fresh night air.
