A/n: I did change the lyrics to say he instead of she but other then that I left them the same. Whole story is Phil's POV and each chapter will be based off the part of the song in that chapter. Enjoy!

He's sitting at the table, the hours get later

He was supposed to be here

He's sure he would've called

He waits a little longer, there's no one in the driveway

No one's said they've seen him

Why, is something wrong?

He looks back to the window

Suddenly the phone rings

A voice says something's happened

That he should come right now

His mind goes to December

He thinks of when he asked him

He bent down on his knee first

And he said

I look at the empty plate in front of me, then glance across the table to Dan's plate of food, still sitting untouched. It had been cold for a while, at least half an hour, and I wanted to heat it up so it would be warm when he got here, but there's just one problem with that. I don't know when he's going to get here. He got off work, or at least was supposed to, at seven o'clock. That was an hour ago.

I get myself a fourth cup of water, sitting back down at the table afterwards and glancing through the screen door to the driveway, as the front door was open. No one yet.

It was a relatively warm night, at least for London. Summer started in a few weeks, and that was when Dan and I were planning to get married. I glance at my ring and smile before looking at the clock again.

8:15.

I look out the window at the full moon, it's beauty putting me in a trance until the phone rings.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hello. Is this Phil Lester?"

"Yes. Who is this?" I question.

"This is Cindy from St. Peter's Hospital. You are Dan Howell's emergency contact, is that correct?" My heart stops.

"Yes, ma'am. Is something the matter?" I ask, trying to keep calm.

"I'm afraid so. Can you come here immediately, please? It's urgent." She says in a sickly sweet voice. How can anybody be so calm in a situation like this? Dan is hurt!

"I'll be right there." I hang up, trying to slow my breathing.

I grab my keys and run to the car, not caring about the fact that I have no shoes on, and speed all the way to the hospital, remembering that wonderful day when he proposed.
