A/n: All of the endings start the same way but are all different. This is the happy ending, so there are no warnings except a major fluff warning.

I sat next to him, continuing to hold his hand even as he's asleep. The heart monitor is beeping still, but it seems too slow. It's as if the machine is connected to another person. My Dan, his heartbeat would never be this slow. Right now we should be in bed cuddling, where he will try to be sneaky and tickle me, even though I know he'll try every night. But as his heartbeat slows down even more, I'm not sure if that will ever happen. A tear that I've desperately been trying to hold in rolls down my face, followed by countless others.

The world seems to move in slow motion as I watch a tear fall onto Dan's hand.

As soon as the liquid makes contact with his beautiful skin,

his eyes flutter open.

"Hey there, bear." I smile through my tears. His eyes widen at me and he smacks me on the arm.

I frown. "What was that for?"

"One, for being so sad. You know I'll never leave you, my little lion cub. I'd never be able to. Forever and always, remember?"

"I'll never forget again." I say as he wipes away my tears. "What was the other reason?" I ask, cocking my head to the side.

"You're cute." He boops my nose. "It was because you rhymed and you didn't even notice!" He shouts.

He seems so full of life now when just moments ago I was convinced he was going to die.

He's going to be okay. I know it.

"Hey, Danny, guess what!" Dan laughs at my childishness before responding, "What, Philly?"

"YOU'RE MY HUSBAND NOW!" I yell excitedly. Apparently I yelled a little too loud, because next thing I know, a nurse comes rushing into the room, freezing on the spot when Dan smiles at her.

"He-he's awake?" She gasps, out of breath.

"Yes, I am." Dan answers for me, hating it when people act like he isn't there.

"I'll be right back!" She said quickly before rushing back out of the room. Dan and I gave each other strange looks before bursting out laughing.

A doctor came into the room, making us stop laughing, though we still had to try to hold in giggles.

"Ashley said you were awake." he said, smiling warmly at Dan. Out of jealousy, I grabbed Dan's hand in mine, playing with his ring. The man gave me a knowing smile, subtly flashing me his wedding ring as he pretended to fix his hair.

"I'm glad," he continued. "We were almost sure you wouldn't make it, but we had a pretty good feeling Phil would help you pull through."

"Wait, how?" I asked, confused.

"There have been several cases of... well, several miracles, it seems. A patient will be in the hospital, near death, and their partners will stay by their side until it seems like the end, and medically, it should be the end. But somehow, somehow the patient survives. There is a lot of debate as to how this happens, but I personally believe that's what love does to you. You never want to leave your partner, so you mind and your body try and try and try to survive, and when it does, we celebrate and call it a miracle and go on living our happy lives, alive and in love. You two have something very special."

Dan and I smile at each other, and the amount of pure love in that look alone almost brings me to tears again.

"Dan, you are free to leave whenever you like, just let us know beforehand so we can change your bandages." We nod gratefully as he leaves.

"Forever," I whisper, gently resting my forehead on Dan's, being cautious of his cut.

"And always." He whispers back, kissing me gently.
