We're Seniors

Lio

"Come on Mirani!" I yell to her. I'm waiting sitting on her front door steps. We're going to be late on our first day of our senior year. I mean she's my best friend and all but she always does this. Finally she comes out but I think she must have confused high school with a runway. Looks like she's bathed herself in glitter. I chuckle to myself.

I might be hallucinating but she is staring at me more than usual. Maybe she's getting sick or something happened. Wait but I don't think anything bad happened she's smiling way too much it's actually making me sick.

"Lio are you excited about finally being seniors?" Asks Mirani. I quickly respond with an I don't care shrug and she rolls her eyes, as usual. Pulls me by my arm and we start running to school.

I'm actually pretty excited to finally be a senior and that Mirani and I are still best friends. She's the only person I can talk to about anything with and not feel judged. Obviously I can't tell her that because she would probably put me in a headlock and call me a wuss.

Mirani

This is it! Our senior year we've finally made it. This is the year I'm going to build up the nerves to confess my love for Lio. It's pretty obvious I like him but it's as if no matter how many hints I give him, he is clueless.

We get to school and all the girls go crazy running up to Lio. Giving him hugs and blowing him kisses. Y'all probably think it's cheesy, but it's as if he were famous. He's so popular and now that we're seniors he will be one of the top datable guys in our high school.

I act like I don't care so I roll my eyes and give him a slight punch on his arm. That's all I can do, it would be crazy of me to get mad. He is so clueless to what I feel for him, like a kindergartner learning the alphabet for the first time. Ugh it's so frustrating.

Why out of all the years being in the same class with Lio, why be separated this year? It's going to make it even more difficult for me because he might start getting closer to another girl. Ahhh! Just as I suspected there comes Mandy Maxwell the most popular girl in school walking towards him. Why now? Why my Lio?

"Well I guess I'm running with luck this year", Mandy says. "The Lio Blakely will finally be in the same classes as me. Maybe this means something", she says staring at Lio with obvious admiration. He just laughs and signals me to follow as he walks past her.

"Well I better get going I need to get to homeroom." I say without looking directly at him. I'm so mad I could just," he interrupts my thoughts. "Alright see you later Mimi I've got to run too." He walks in the opposite direction. He's the only one who calls me Mimi I used to hate it, but now it makes me tingle all over.

Mandy

Seeing Lio and Mirani always together agitates me. He's the cutest and most popular guy in our school he shouldn't hang out with her. She is so ordinary and is always following him around like a lost dog. This year it's all going to change, once he's with me she will have to back off. I'm not the only one that can see that she has a crush on Lio it is so obvious.

Lio is tall with dark brown hair that hangs a little past his eyes. He has deep sea blue colored eyes and fair tan skin tone. His broad shoulders and serious look makes him so desirable. He is going to be mine, I get what I want when I want. Mirani will become just a memory poor girl she's so naive.
