A New Life (adopted by the sidemen)

Ch. 1 The Big News

"Lux sweetie wake up, I have exciting news for you." a sweet calming voice ushered me out of my deep sleep. I grumbled into my pillow and turned to my left seeing Mia sitting on the bed smiling with a cup of coffee extended to me. Sitting up I happily accepted the cup of coffee and took a small swig.

"What do you mean by exciting news?" I inquired taking another swig of the delicious coffee.

Mia smiled and stood up, "Brittany and I will explain over breakfast, get dressed because today is going to be a busy day." a devious smirk played on her lips but before I could ask anything she left.

Sighing I set the mug down on the bedstand and grabbed my laptop from the foot of the bed. After messing around on my laptop for a bit I was about to close out of twitter when a tweet from Zerkaa caught my eye.

I favorited the tweet then asked if they were getting a dog or if someone was joining the sidemen. Shutting my laptop I jumped out of bed and started to plan my outfit in my head. Deciding on just a plain black pair of joggers and a black/white SDMN shirt I headed to the shower.

After a brisk shower I changed into my clothes and started to brush my long brown ombre hair. Feeling more awake I applied my makeup so I didn't look like the walking dead. Slipping on a pair of socks I grabbed my mug and made my way downstairs.

Remembering I forgot my special necklace, I quickly ran back to my room and grabbed it. This necklace means the whole world to me. It's a silver key decorated in shiny diamonds with a base in the shape of a heart. This is the only thing that I have from my biological parents, no photos no letters just a key necklace. And for that reason I refuse to go anywhere without it.

Once I got down the stairs I saw Mia and Brittney were already in the kitchen cooking. "Has Charlie gotten outta bed yet?" I asked referring to my foster brother who was four years older than me. Brittney turned from the stove and came up to me giving me a hug.

"He's already gone off to work," She glanced down at my cup, "Can't you act British for once." she playfully teased, referring to my preference of coffee over tea.

Poking my tongue at her I put down my mug, "I am British and I do like tea. I just enjoy coffee more." A couple of more minutes of banter and empty chitchat breakfast was done. We sat down and began eating.

Not being able to control myself any longer I blurted out, "Ok so what's the exciting news?"

Mia and Brittany glanced at each other with an unreadable look then turned back to me, "Lux, you're being adopted." They both seemed to be happy and sad at the same time.

My mind started to move at a mile a minute trying to actually process what I just heard, "Are you taking the piss or being legit?" I question not quite sure what to think.

Mia stood up and wrapped her arms around me, "We are being serious sweetie. You're being adopted." Tears began to form in my eyes as I tried to blink them away. But when Britney went to hug me too I lost control and started to cry. To be honest I wasn't sure if it was tears of joy or sadness.

"Who is it? Where do they live? When am I going to meet them?" I asked wanting know everything about my soon to be new family.

"It's a lovely man from London, I'm a bit dodgy of where exactly in London but all in all not terribly far from us. The man sounds extremely nice and seems just like you." Mia responded once she returned to her meal.

"What do you mean by that?" I inquired taking another sip of my second cup of coffee today.

"Well I was having a bit of a chat with him and turns out he know's about those youtubers you watch, The Sidemen is it?" Once I nodded my head excitedly she continued, "He loves playing football and video games just like you."

"Oh my god this is a dream come true!" I exclaimed taking the last swig of coffee, "When am I going to meet them?"

Brittney started to clear away the dishes while she answered, "Well here's the thing," Her voice got softer and sadder, "He'll be coming over later today to fill out paperwork and to take you."

A whole range of emotions washed over me, "That means today is my last day here." Mia and Brittany nodded sullenly, "I have to start packing then."

Once all the dishes were cleaned and away, Mia and Brittany followed me upstairs to help me pack.

TIME SKIP

After a few hours my things were neatly packed away into 3 luggages and I was left with 3 hours for free time before my adopter came. Mia and Brittany went off to do their own things while I sat in the living room messing around on my laptop.

While I was watching a few Sidemen videos I felt my anxiety slowly creep up on me. What if my adopter doesn't like me? What if he is abusive like many foster homes I've been in? Many more what if's flew around my head giving me a headache. I grabbed a pair of headphones and selected a random song from a playlist then blasted the volume in hopes of drowning out the many negative questions.

I must have fell asleep because I felt a hand shaking me to wake up. Opening my eyes I see Charlie! My arms flew around him, knocking over my laptop in the process, "Charlie! I thought you were at work."

He flashes me a cheeky smile and pulled away from me, "I went in early so I could leave early." He ruffled my hair playfully, "I couldn't let my little foster sister leave without saying goodbye now could I." This made me smile brightly, but also made me kinda sad. I can't believe I'm leaving the closest thing I've had to a brother. "Come on your adopter is in the dining room." He reached out his hand to help me stand up.

My nerves grew rigid as I neared the dining room, all my fears and anxiety resurfacing. Charlie must have noticed my uneasiness because he grabbed my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.

Stopping at the frame of the door, I took a deep breath before entering. And I never could believe what I saw in a thousand years could happen. Sitting at the table were Mia and Brittany along with 2 very familiar faces. Many emotions flooded me as I tried to put together a coherent sentence, "Your Zerkaa and Miniminter! W-Why is 2/7 of The Sidemen here?"
