A New Life (adopted by the sidemen)

Ch. 3 Home

Lux's POV

I don't remember falling asleep or how long I was out for but soon enough someone was shaking my shoulder. Fighting the urge to rub my eyes because of my makeup I look to my left to see Simon. He's standing outside the open car door. "We're there already?" I mumbled yawning slightly.

Simon shook his head and offered me his hand, "Nope, Josh wanted to use the loo so we stopped at a service station." After I unbuckled myself I grabbed his hand and got out the car. My guess is that Josh was already inside because it was only Simon and I walking in.

"Omg there's a Starbucks!" I pointed excitedly looking over to Simon. He smiled a started to walk over to it with me in suit. We waited in line for a bit and finally placed our orders. I ordered a grande unsweetened black tea lemonade while Simon order 2 venti caramel frappuccino with extra caramel for himself and Josh. I started to pull out money but Simon beat me to it. "Hey I was gonna pay."

"No way was I gonna make you pay for mine and Josh's drinks." He responded sassily. I shook my head and went to a random table to wait for our drinks. Simon sat across from me and pulled out his phone, "Hey do you have a phone?" He questioned randomly.

Shaking my head I responded, "Sadly no, I never got around to buy one. I saved up enough for a crappy cheap laptop." A barista came over and handed us our drinks. Taking a sip I continued, "Mia and Brittany really couldn't afford much so it wasn't a necessity of mine."

Simon noded and took a sip of his drink, "Alrighty then, I'll tell josh that you need a complete upgrade on the electronics."

Just before I could respond Josh came over to us, scaring me slightly when he placed his hand on my back. He sat down next to me while Simon handed Josh his drink. We sat around for a bit just chatting getting to know each other more until a loud shriek interrupted us, "Oh my god! It's THE SIDEMEN." Next thing I know the table was encircled with quite a few girls and some boys.

There was a lot of chatter and semi-loud squealing. Simon and Josh tried their best to greet everyone, sign things and take pictures. So many questions flew around about who I was. But none was answered because I stayed silent and the boys redirected the questions.

10 minutes later the squealing did not die down like I hoped. I felt my anxiety start to pick up so I grabbed my drink and tried to tell the boys that I'll be outside. Squeezing my way through the crowd was slightly difficult but I managed and finally made it outside. Sitting on the curb I allowed the silence to wash over me calmingly. It settled my nerves ever so slightly. Focussing on my breathing I lost track of time.

A hand gently laid on my shoulder causing me to flinch and stand up to be greeted with Simon and Josh. The gave me a questioning look but didn't ask why I jumped, "Come on we're heading home."

Time Skip

Another 20 minutes later we finally pulled into a decent sized house. Looking out the car window I stare in awe. This house is my new home, I'm going to be living with some of my favorite youtubers. Everything is so surreal that I almost had to pinch myself. We all got out the car deciding to come back later for my bags.

"Come on the rest of The Sidemen are inside." Josh stated wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I had to hold back on flinching because I'm not too fond of sudden contact from anyone. We walked inside the house and I instantly remember the tour video that Simon and Vikk did. The house is actually a lot bigger in person.

"Honey! I'm home." Simon said in a sing song voice leading us to the living room. Once I walked into the room my breath hitched in my throat at the sight of everyone. Vikk, Harry, Tobi, JJ, and Ethan all sat on the couch messing around on their phones and taking turns playing Fifa.

They paused the game and all waved at me then giggled at my small wave. They got up and walked over to us in a semi circle.

"So you must be Lux," Tobi stated being the first one to talk to me.

"Yup, we can skip introductions, I know about you guys cause I watch your videos." I responded shyly trying not to sound like a stalker.

JJ let out a huge sigh, "Oh thank god! I thought we were going to have do those very awkward introductions and play an icebreaker game." We all laughed.

"Well then I guess welcome to The Sidemen Family Lux!" Vikk said tossing his hands into the air in celebrations.

"Yeah not much happens around here though," Harry added with a slight pout.

"Don't you worry little bog, I just might change that." I started to get more confident around them. I mean they may be very famous youtubers but they are actually just normal people.

"Alright someone get Lux's stuff from my car while I show her her room." Josh asked. JJ, Tobi, and Ethan volunteered and went outside. Josh lead me up 2 flight of stairs, "Alright you're going to be sharing a floor with Simon." Nodding my head I walked in. The room was a little bland but was very spacious. There was a queen sized bed, an empty desk, and a window sill.

"Sorry it's boring in here," Josh gestured around the room, "But we can go shopping so you can decorate the room."

I nodded my head, "It's fine I'll just live out of my suitcase until we get furniture." I turned to him and smiled brightly, "Thank you so much." Next thing that I did even surprised myself, as I threw my arms around Josh in a gracious hug. He was surprised at first but wasted no time to return the hug.

As soon as we pulled away JJ, Tobi, and Ethan came into the room each carrying a bag. They set the bags down and we all went downstairs. Looking at a clock I see that it's already half passed 3.

Sitting down next to Harry on the couch I see him turn to me with a cheeky grin, "Fancy a game of Fifa?" He asked handing my a controller.

We set up our teams, mine being made up of mostly Portuguese players and began to play. It was a pretty intense game, all the boys sat around commentating while Harry and I screamed a lot. "My goalie is fucking shit!." I exclaimed seeing that Harry already made 2 goals in. After halftime my game play got much better and I ended up winning 4-2.

"Good game girlie," Harry said impressed. Everyone except for Vikk started to challenge me to rounds. I as pretty confident in my Fifa skills so I accepted. I destroyed JJ, Ethan, Tobi and Josh in a breeze. But the only one who put up a real fight was Simon. I won by the skin of my teeth, and a penalty shoot out.

"You're too good at this game!" Simon exclaimed tossing the controller to the ground. His shout made me flinch but I quickly composed myself.

"Not to brag but I am talented." I responded sticking my tongue at him cheekily.

We sat around some more playing a few rounds and watched some tv. Everyone sat on the couch just enjoying one and another's company. Harry and Vikk sat very close to one and another and so did Simon and Josh.

"I'm hungryyyyy." whined Simon breaking the silence. Around the room people started to chime in agreeing.

"Who wants Domino's?" Josh asked. At that made my stomach growl making me just realize how hungry I actually was. We all agreed then Josh pulled out his phone to call. After he order 4 large pizzas we went back to silence.

Suddenly feeling all of today's business hit me causing my eyes to flutter close as I yawned softly. "I think I'm going to take a quick a nap." I said, standing up and stretched. Some of the guys nodded and some said "Okay have fun." I went upstairs to my new room and sat on the bed.

I was about to go under the blankets to sleep but a knock on the door stopped me. I told them to come in and was greeted with Simon. "Hey Lux, can I talk to you for a moment?" Simon asked sounding worried. My nerves started to pick up, making a millions questions fly in my mind. But a main question kept coming back, Did I do something wrong?
