Story 15

A ribbon cutting ceremony and a party as well will be conducted in the port owned by Lord Eris. It will be attended by many politicians and the relatives that hate him. Hady was standing in front of Eris and thinking blankly. A beautiful white gown was in front of them with a glittery gold shoes that exactly her size.
"Y-Your saying that I'm going to wear this?"
"Yeah."
"WAIT! WHY would a grown man like me wear something so unmanly like that??"
"Graham, explain it to him the third time."
"Well, Sir Hady, the Lady Veronique who was supposed to be the Lords date tonight got some indigestion issues so she can't attend the party, since you have the same physique like her, the Lord wants you to come instead of her."
She blink her eyes for so many times.
"That's why I'm asking why me?"
''The party is tonight Hady, the theme subjects all guest to have a partner, since it's my party I can't disobey that. Besides didn't you said that you will compensate me with something when you got drunk and use my clothes in the inn."
"Stop talking about that place, i got goose bumps."
"So it's a yes then, Graham prepare him."
"Wait, what if you got shock if you see my face painted with that thing called make up?"
"Ill take care of my self."
Eris just wink and leave them.
"Make him pretty Graham, good luck Hady!"
"Wait Eris! I said wait!"
But she can't do anything, ever since then she was always a follower, she can complaint but he is still the boss. While she was being beautify by some make up artist, she keeps looking at the beautiful dress.
"A dress for another woman, huh, am I always the insurance?"
Graham just bow his head, if only the Madame knew that the dress and shoes was exclusively custom made for her.
After an hour, it's already dark outside,  Eris was already in his Tuxedo while waiting in the living room with Graham.
"I'm a bit excited to see her, was it going well?"
"Well, just look and see."
Hady enter the room, she was so beautiful, a light make up was use since she already has a pretty face and it suit her white dress. Her hair was tucked in with some ornaments. The dress was long but it has some decoration that centers her little waist. It makes her happy that Eris is now looking at her as a woman. He stood up straight while gazing at her head over heels. Graham just smile at her. Eris came near her.
" As I said, you are beautiful, Miss?"
"Ah, call me Ms. Hari, that's the nearest one."
Eris smile and took her hand around his arms.
"Let's go, Ms. Hari."
She just smile since she's been enjoying this feeling. Although this is all a sham, she's happy that his eyes were all on her. When they reach the venue,  Eris never left her side, he was holding her hand all the time and even strangling his hand around her waist. They really look like a real couple, she was a bit dizzy and Eris felt it.
"What's wrong are you tired?"
"Ah, no, it's just that, I feel a little weird am I?"
Eris pinch her cheeks and smile.
"You are the weirdest, so don't worry."
Hady just smile at him, it was witness with two old women, with a bit tacky make up that shows there arrogant features.
"Well, well, well, isn't this the first time you brought a woman in a company party, Eremund?"
Hady was also surprise to see the two, she did not even know that Eremund was Eris full name, why does they know it?
''Mrs. Russel, Mrs. Devorr, well this is my first time bringing a woman in front of the two of you too."
"Hmpf, don't tell me she's the one you're going to marry?"
"Isn't she in the list?"
The two look guilty, it seems like this two are the relatives of Eris mother side who have the chance to enjoy the gold mine if he will not get married. So this are the bad blood.
"Well, she's just new to us, will you introduced her to us--''
Hady pried in the conversation.
"There's no need Madame, why would the two of you want to know me?"
The two seems surprise.
" Excuse  me?"
"Are you planning to negotiate with me so that I'll stay away from Eris?"
Both were astonished and Eris was just listening.
"Well you need to start digging deeper, Cuz I'm a bit pricey."
"W-what did you say you little Spoiled brat?"
Eris hold her hand tightly.
"Don't worry, I will not marry her."
She was shocked for a while and pretended not to, since this is all an act, but why does she feel that he was saying it for her? Eris look her in the eyes seriously.
" For all those 13 women that I take advantage for, I wanted to say sorry too, I never consider their feelings and just go on with this fight, at first i just wanted to marry someone to secure the mine, because that mine was the last piece my father wanted me to have, since it's the last it  means that it is valuable to him. Because he want me to have it and making sure that I am with someone I'm calling a family on my own, someone I'll be calling a wife. I also wanted the mine because there are thousand of workers that are helping it, if it will go to the wrong hands, their lives and their family will be prejudice."
She did not know that was his real intention.
"Eris,"
"This woman in front of me right now, is more valuable than a gold mine so I will not marry her on my own will, until she wanted me, until she decides to accept me, I'll wait then."
A tears suddenly run in her eyes, even though she already told herself that this is not true and it was just an act, she was moved by those words and she was happy. She get her hand and run for she doesn't want Eris to see her crying.
"Excuse me, my eyes hurt."
"Hady!"
But Eris followed her to the garden.
"Hady,''
She quickly wipe her tears and face him.
" Sorry, there's a dirt in my eye--"
But Eris give her a sudden kiss in the lips. A sweet first kiss she ever wanted, she was blank and still in shock. When Eris look at her she was speechless.
"E-eris? Why did you--"
"I already know, so kissing you will not make me prefer men."
She was dumbfounded.
"You what?"
"I know that you're not a man, and Hady everything that I just said right now, it was all meant for you, and it was all true."
Even though  she was still in daze she now knew what is happening.
"Eris?"
"Sophia Hariath Vanguer, I'm sorry but your the one I fell in love with, your the one I want to marry."
Her eyes begun to flow again.
"Me?"
"I am the reason for all of this, let me be responsible to you, i cant promised that i will not make you cry, that you will not be sad beside me, that you will not be angry nor be disappointed in me but i promise with all my heart that i will make you happy as if everyday is forever, I love you."
A ring with 3 different  diamond stone was reach to her.
"When the time came that you want to marry me, wear this. Whenever and wherever it is, I will definitely marry you right away.''
She was so happy that she can't even breath. She just cry and she can't stop crying.
"Eris, I, I deceived you, but I don't intend to do that, you still want me, despite of the things that I hide everything from you?"
"You did not mean to pretend as a man, I was also the one who brought you here in Gracilli. I'm also at fault for that."
He wipe her crying face.
"This dress was meant exclusively for you, not as an insurance or a substitute but the original who really owns it."
She can only give him a huge embrace.
"I love you, Eris."
Eris hug her in return and caress her hair.
" I will always love you back."
Hady felt so heavy inside and finally lose her limits, she fell unconscious while in Eris arms, that make Eris more confused especially that he doesn't know anything about her illness.
"Hady!  Hey! Hady?!"
She  was in her bed for two days now, some IV drips were attached to her body, it seems that the new medicine was effective enough in forcing into her system. Bren and Graham told everything to Eris, about Hadys illness and about her reason in further staying in Gracilli.
" It was a blood Cancer, a deadly disease she inherited from her mother."
"If the medication started a long time ago, when will that be over?"
"It will take her almost 6 months to be totally cured."
Eris close his eyes in distress.
"I was the only one who doesn't know that she's suffering from that kind of disease and yet I'm also the one who make her suffer."
"My Lord, right now you just need to stay by her side."
The night was still bright when Hady wake up and felt a warm hands that surrounds her hand.
"Eris,"
He quickly wake up and look at her, an obvious sleepless and tired face appeared.
"Hady, are you feeling well? Do you need something?"
She smile and press his hand.
" You look so stress, you need to sleep."
"I'm okay, don't mind me."
"Eris, this is the reason I can't marry you right now, so if you will also wait for me, I'll run this Marathon of life and death to spend my forever with you."
He smiled painfully.
" I'm sorry, I did not know. If only I kne---"
"If you did, i might not be a wife candidate since I'm a sick person. I was surely disqualified."
She smile brightly that makes him smile as well. She touch his face full of love.
"I will come back and be ready cause I will marry you no matter what."
Eris smile and hug her in return.
"Take your time, I'll be waiting too, let's wait for each other."
He kiss her forehead and she close her eyes.
