We entered the lobby of the adoption center to see Quinn sitting there with a small suitcase. She had on her black converse', leggings, and MCRX t-shirt that made me respect her even more. She ran over to us and gave us a bear hug.
"Nice to see you, Quinn!" said a slightly strangled Phil.
"Thank you so much," she said with all the sincerity in the world.
"It's really our pleasure," I responded.
We walked up to the front desk and signed a bunch of papers. Quinn clung to us the whole time.
We got into to the taxi and I sat in the back with Quinn while Phil sat up front. I watched her look out the window seemingly analyzing the world around her. There was nothing too off about her. She was a little skinny but she was only 11.
When we got home we gave her a tour of the apartment. She marveled at all the quirky decorations. We set her up in my 'room' even though I don't sleep there. It was more of my studio.
"Um, I guess we should explain the camera equipment." said Phil awkwardly. Right. We forgot about that.
"I-uh, I googled you guys, no need to explain." she mumbled. I was relieved. This was slightly less awkward.
"Are you mad at us for lying about our job?" queried Phil.
"No, it's hard to explain. I'm just wondering when you're gonna tell them?" I looked at Phil. We hadn't really considered this.
"Um, we don't know. We could do it right away. What do you think, Phil?"
"That would be best."
We decided to do it on a liveshow. I tweeted "Ok, we've lied. Emergency liveshow with AmazingPhil in 15mins." with a link to my YouNow.
"What should we say?" I asked.
"I don't know. Maybe just start from the beginning. How we got together. Then bring in Quinn?"
"Sounds good. Quinn?" Quinn looked downright terrified.
"What if they hate me" She whispered.
"No honey, they won't hate you. They'll be ecstatic that phan is real!" I said bending down to meet her level. "But, we can cancel it if you want?"
"No. The only thing worst than coming out is to not come out."
"Yes, there'll be haters but anything that's about you I'll...I don't know, I'll do something." I smiled at Phil's inability to be hateful.
So we sat down on the couch with Quinn out of shot ready to start the liveshow.
