Christmas rolled around after a couple weeks of just sitting around and playing video games. The plan was to go to my parents the 23rd and 24th and come home for Christmas morning then go to Dan's parents house for Christmas dinner. We were on the train to go to my parents house when Quinn started seeming a bit odd. She was shaking and kept checking her phone.
"Quinn..." Dan started to question. She buried her face into his chest - something she does when she's having a panic attack, she does this to let us know she needs help - 'Shit, not here' I thought. Dan hugged her tightly and ran his hands through her hair.
"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked softly. She shook her head. "It'll make you feel better." She started hiccuping. I dropped the subject for now.
The train pulled into the station about 15 minutes later and we pulled her into the family bathroom. She was full on crying now.
"What if they hate me?" She asked between sobs.
"They don't have the capacity to hate you! Nothing you do will make them hate you." I reassured her.
"What if I break down?"
"Then just let us know and we'll go into the bathroom."
"Hey-" Dan said lifting her chin so she looked into her eyes. "-I know how you feel but trust me, everything will be ok. They are wonderful people." She nodded in response. We left the bathroom and she didn't let go of Dan's arm until we got into the taxi.
The rest of the trip was full of bear hugs, cheek pinching, and presents.
