Chapter 18 hanging by a thread

Aphmaus POV

I lazily put my hand over my clock hoping it would stop, once I had finally shut it up I reached for my for my phone. I turned it on and saw the date. Why did it have to be today? On a school day. I could feel tears threatening to fall it was my moms birthday today. I gave in and cried. And cried. I looked at the time I only had half an hour to get changed. I can't be bothered to take a shower today I went to my wardrobe and just shoved on leggings and a baggy dark purple top. I slowly walked to the bathroom and looked at my tear stained cheeks and started crying again. I quickly recovered and washed my face, I put on waterproof mascara because today I know I'm going to cry. A lot. I put on passion fruit Chapstick on and no eyeliner because today I seriously can't be bothered. I brushed my teeth and put my hair in a messy bun, I put on some black converse and made my way down stairs.
"Aph. What's wrong? And don't say nothing because I know better." Fae asked looking at me with a concerned look on her face.
I looked at her and just started crying uncontrollably. Fae ran over to me and let me cry on her shoulder.
"You don't have to talk about if your this sad." Fae said giving me a reassuring smile.
"No. I want you to know your one of my best friends." I said wiping my eyes. " today is my mums Birthday. As you know my mum and dad are dead. And I just miss them so much." I said chocking up before crying again.
My parents were there for me my whole life I was really close to them and my friends back at scaleswind know. Okay no more crying just eat breakfast and talk about something else you can do this Aphmau.
I wiped my eyes and somehow my mascara hasn't even run or come off. Fae and I walked to the kitchen and made some cereal.
"So what do you want to do on the weekend?" Fae asked me trying to help me get my mind off.... No Aphmau stop it!
"Well I need to go to town to get some new body wash and for a little shop cuz I haven't went shopping since the first weekend we got here which was with cadenza and she likes to shop believe me." I said.
"Haha! Well I need to go shopping for clothes because I'm wearing yours and cadenzas." She said smiling.
"Where would your money come from?"I asked curiously.
"Oh yeah.... Well it turns out my aunt my only living relative gave me everything she owned. So that technically makes me a rich. Heh." She said smiling nervously.
I smiled, we cleaned up the dishes I fed Celestia and gave her a big cuddle then we walked to school.
Time skip to school
We didn't meet up with anybody we just sat down on the bench at the back of the school not many people come this way and it's quiet so that's good. The bell rang and luckily  Me and Fae's forms were right next to each so we walked up to form together. When walked Into form cadenza gave me one look and I knew what she was going to ask.
"Hey are you alright?"
"Yeah I'm fine cadenza." I said giving her a small smile.
She frowned but then continued with her normal chatter I just listened smiling  and nodding I just really didn't want to make conversation. Eventually the bell went for first period I grabbed my stuff said goodbye to cadenza and made my way out to meet with Fae. Luckily we had the next couple of lessons together, we walked into science and I went to my seat next to Laurence. Ugh I really don't want to sit next to Laurence he's just going to flirt with me the whole time I'm really not in the mood for his games.
"Hey beautiful." He said giving me a flirty wink.
In return I gave him an eye roll and a scoff. I'm being really grumpy and moody today I should probably apologise.
"I'm sorry I'm just going to apologise in advance because I'm just having a really bad day and I'll probably be not very nice." I mumbled.
"That's okay we all have bad days sometimes." He said smiling kindly.
Well that is a change from his usual flirty ways he actually sounded kind of.... Wise.  Strange. The teacher came in and gave us work i hope this gets my mind off things. I put my head down and started the work sheet, I hope Laurence is not as flirty and is more wise or something.
"Hey babe. Did it hurt?" He said smirking.
I thought it too soon I know how this goes.
"Can you please just shut up I know how it goes so don't bother me with it." I snapped.
He left me alone after that. Thank Irene.
Time skip to lunch
I really don't want to talk to anybody not even Fae.
"Hey Fae I'm just going to sit on my own for lunch." I said.
"Sure. You deserve some alone time." She said smiling before making her way to all the others.
I walked over to the tree where I first met Aaron and climbed up to the most comfortable spot. I then took out my phone and ear buds I didn't really feel like like eating. I put on my favourite song gladiator by girl and the dreamcatcher. (This is the best song everrrr!)
I sang along with it until it ended. I thought about my parents and how my dad was brave enough to risk his life for my mum it shows how much he loved her. I could feel tears building up and soon enough I was crying. I don't usually think about them because in having so much fun with my friends it's nearly been six months since they died.
"Hey, why you crying? Has somebody hurt you? Or is it about your parents?" Aaron asked his voice laced with worry and concern. I looked up at him and gulped
"It's about my parents." I managed to choke out. "It's my mums birthday today."
"Oh Aph....." He said sadly.
He jumped down and I tried to get down but slipped I yelped but luckily Aaron caught me. I had already put my bag down I took out my ear buds and threw my phone into my bag.
"It looks like your falling for me Aph." He said smirking.
I put head back and laughed a proper laugh not fake true and genuine.
"Oh no. Not you too. I'd expect that from Laurence." I said still laughing.
"Haha. Just lightening up the mood." He said grinning.
I gave him a hug and asked him to put me down we then just sat down under the tree and talked I put my head on his shoulder.
"Do you want to go home? I could make an excuse for you to go home." He said looking into my eyes.
"Yes I would like that very much. Can you come with me?" I asked.
"Sure." He said as we picked up our bags and went to the matron. (this is basically the school nurse.)
Time skip home
We walked home and went into my house. Celestia came running at me I picked her up and cuddled her we walked into my house and Aaron closed the door.
"Thanks for closing the door." I said looking behind me and at him.
"No problem." He replied flatly.
As I've got to know him I've noticed sometimes you can't find any emotion in his voice and because of his mask you can't really ever see emotions in his face. We sat down on the sofa and watched spider man but the one with Toby Maguire as spider man. As we were watching Aaron put his arm around my shoulders and put my head on his shoulder. I actually feel really tired eventually I fell asleep.
Aaron's POV (A/N hope you like this POV😉)
When the movie had ended I noticed Aphmau had fallen asleep I smiled she's a really nice girl I quite like her and I'm glad I'm her friend. I picked her up and went up the stairs she's really light. I opened one door it's not purple so that's not her room, I opened another and it's purple so that has to be her room. I laid her on her bed careful not to wake her I pulled the covers over her and quickly wrote a note it said:
You fell asleep so that's why your in bed. I went home hope you're feeling better in the morning.

I put it beside her and went down the stairs Celestia growled at me and I pointed to the stairs and she barked happily before bounding up the stairs. Don't ask me how I knew I just did. I picked up my bag and went home.
