BUZZ BUZZ

The one thing I hated most other than Triton, was that dreaded alarm clock! Sleep was something that I cherished and anyone who dared to ruin it had better come in, armor clad if they wished to live.

“AHHHHHH WHYY!!!” I whined and I tossed around under the covers.

“Time to wake up Miss Nia” said Berta, my helper. She had worked with us ever since I was a baby and was really like a friend more than anything.

“But I don’t want to go Berta. I don’t like that place, please can I not go!” I mumbled into my pillow. She drew apart my maroon shades and the sunlight came piercing in.

“I have a good feeling about this Nia.” She said stroking my hair. “Don’t you worry, now wake up or you will be late for your jog with Mr. Ezra”

“Oh shoot! I forgot!” I said as I bounced off my bed and ran towards my bathroom. I spread out my morning kit and washed my puffy face thrice with cold water to look less tired. All that worrying last night didn’t really help me sleep and now its product was shown.

I patted my cheeks and tied my dark straighten hair into a high ponytail. Bushing my teeth I checked my phone to see Ezra’s threat.

Let me guess you just woke up. Meet you in five Nia. DON’T BE LATE!

My fingers were trembling as I typed.

I’m sorry! I’ll be there on time. I promise!

I pushed send and changed into a grey Nike train tank top with my black Nike tights. Picking up my neon orange sketchers shoes I ran out.

“MISS NIA” yelled Berta as I ran down the cascading stairs. My room was located on the second floor along with my sister; the first belonging to my parents, the third and fourth being the guest floors. The thing I loved the most about my room was how I could walk out when ever I wanted because of the connecting path that lead to the backyard.

“Yes Berta” I said as I plopped down on the dark grey couch putting on my shoes.

“Your morning pomegranate juice.” She said holding a tall glass of red juice.

I grabbed it and gulped it down. “Your keys” she said handing me the keys to my grey BMW.

“What would I do without you Berta” I said blowing her a kiss.

“Well Well! Look whose late!” I said taunting Ezra as he ran towards me. He wore a loose fitted blue Puma shirt and black Puma shorts. His shoes today were the neon green Nike train shoes.

“Did you just say late.” He said panting. “I finish two rounds!”

“WHAT? Oh my god Ezra I am so sorry!”

“Ha ha no I was just kidding! I’m late today!” he said scratching the back of his neck.

“Well let’s go grandma!” I said as I started the run.

“So… how are you?” he asked as we walked towards our cars. “I’m okay I guess. I don’t know Ezra will it be okay? What if it isn’t what if I'm at a total loss?” I went on, he had to jump in front of me to make me stop.

“First of all Nia, stop talking. Second it’s going to be fine! Stop wanting to plan out everything in life, let life surprise you for once!”

“Alright! Stop getting so cranky!” I said frowning.
