Chapter 18: Explained

Brice's P.O.V
I hear running and voices. Who is that? I get up from my spot and see a girl.

"We are close to the campsite." She said. My eyes catch General Mitch and I sink down behind a bush.

"Good." He said.

"What's wrong with your wrists?" The girl asks.

"Probably just rope burns. I'm fine." He said.

"No. We'll treat that. Come on." The girl said. They leave. I stand up and follow them closely. So that meams that General Quentin, General Ty, and General Jerome are the only ones who are locked up. I wonder if Jason is around. I grab the metal band around my neck for a second. I pull my hood up.

Jason's P.O.V
I open my eyes hearing voices. I look to the left seeing Skylar putting bandages on Mitch's wrists. I sit up.

"Mitch." I said. He looks at me.

"Is your ankle gonna be okay?" He asks. No. It's fractured. So no more walking for me.

"He can't walk anymore till it's healed. So he's been basically hospitalized." Skylar said. Wait a second..Seto. Mitch is gonna be so mad.

"What happened to your wrists?" I ask.

"Rope burns. They are not that bad, but it helps if they are treated still." Skylar said. I look at Mitch, then something catches my eye.

"Skylar can we talk alone?" I ask. Skylar nods and leaves.

"Jason we all thought you were dead." He said. He comes closer to me. I move his jacket and grab Sky's amulet. My eyes widen looking at it. He did die!

"No." I said. Mitch grabs my arm and then the chain. "I knew it. I knew it. It's all my fault he's dead." Mitch shakes his head.

"No. No. No it isn't. Alesa gave me this. Sky's a survivor Jason. He's not dead." Mitch said.

"You weren't there. She wasn't there." I said. I let go of the amulet and Mitch lets go of my arm.

"What happened?" He asks. I begin explaining what happened to him but Seto walks in and stops. Mitch looks at him. I grab Mitch's sleeve.

"You." He said.

"No. Mitch he didn't know what he was doing." I said as Mitch stands up.

"I'm sorry-"

"Sorry?! I nearly die because of you." Mitch shouted. I put my good foot under me and stand up holding onto Mitch's arm for balance as he walks towards Seto.

"Mitch stop." I said. Seto goes outside and then Mitch does. I follow or try to. Dylan ends up grabbing my waist before I fall down.

"What are you doing up? You can't walk Jason." Dylan said. Mitch and Seto end up arguing. Or more Mitch does most of the talking. I get out if Dylan's grip. Recruits are more worried about me then the argument. I grab Mitch's quiver and then his arm.

"Alright, I'm just gonna..." I started. Mitch stops talking. He grabs my arm. I hop over behind Seto and Mitch. I grab Mitch's shoulder. "Seto had no idea what he was doing Mitch. You know he wouldn't hurt any of us on purpose. He was under a spell. He was mind controlled."

"I don't care-"

"Don't care? You should care. Seto doesn't recalled what happened these past few weeks at all. He can't cause he wasn't the one that experienced these past few weeks. Sky believed in Seto, why don't you?" I said. I feel Seto grab me as I sway a little.

"Why are you always right?" Mitch asks.

"I'm not." I said.

"Yes you are. And when you are, I hate you sometimes." He said.
