Chapter Four

Alena POV
I woke up with my alarm saying its six so I go and unwrap my bandages and take a very careful shower . Then i change into my black jeans and a blue sweater and grabbed a hoodie just in case it's starting to get cold. Since it was middle of year when I came so it's almost Christmas time. In a month I grab my vans that are blue and my back pack and head out the door. There's still some bruise from when I got hit the last time so I cover them up and drive to the hospital. When I get there some of the nurses stare I go to the front desk I tell them I need stitches. Then take me to the back and ask how this happened I told them there was a knife on the counter and I forgot it was, there so when I reached up to go get a plate it cut me. They put a shot in my cut to numb it and then the doctor stitched me up it was already third period and then they made me sign. Some papers saying I was going against medical advice to stay for a little longer. I walked out of the hospital after signing the last form and headed to my car and headed to the pharmacy. To put my prescription in then headed to school it was fourth period so I got a tardy slip. From the attendance office and went to class everyone was looking at me but I could careless considering I just got stitches. I wasn't paying that much attention for the rest of the class soon enough lunch starts and we headed to lunch hope kept pestering me. Of why I was late I just told her I had some business to take care of I was kinda hungry but I just kept talking with the girls. Hope said that Lucas started reading the book on his own and that the girls said that the other guys are starting to be really helpful. I was happy that the guys were helping the girls in the project instead of making them do it by themselves the final bell went off. The doctor said the numbing medicine would wear off, and that I would need to take my prescription one is to make sure. I don't get an infection and the other one is a pain reliever but, the only thing wrong is the pain reliever it would knock me out. After I picked them up I headed over to James house I sat, in the car and called Alicia and told her I couldn't come in today. And she said that's fine she'll see me Saturday morning at nine-thirty I put my medicine in my bag and knocked on the door James opened the door. "Where have you been it doesn't take that long to get to my house" chill out James I had to go to the pharmacy and pick up some stuff. "What kinda stuff" James we all have our own secrets I don't ask about yours and you don't ask about mine. "Uh you make me so infuriating are you okay at least" yeah I'm fine just kinda hungry and need to take my medicine. "Why do you need medicine? Sorry James another one of my secrets that your not aloud to know yet. "Fine why don't you sit down and I can make you something to eat and then you can take your medicine" okay but first go get your laptop so I can look over your work. "Okay I'll be right back don't go anywhere" he went up stairs and grabbed his laptop and came and handed it to me. I opened it up and went to our power point to look over his work. He didn't do that bad he just missed a few question and a couple of typos but other then that he did great. I heard from the girls that the guys are, being really helpful in their projects do you happen to have something to do with it. I saw a little blush creeping up his neck aww I made the big bad beast blush so cute. "Oh yeah me and the guys were talking yesterday about our partners and the guys were being jerks so I told not to be". I got up and walked over to him and gave him a hug it really touched my heart he would tell the guys that he was shocked and stiff but then relaxed and hugged me back. Thanks James it means a lot to me I didn't think you would have cared. "Of course I may seem like a beast and bad person to most but for some reason Lena I don't want you to see me like that". I don't see you like that James I see so much more I see a person that's been hurt. And have so much pain that has turned its pain into anger did you just call me Lena? "Oh yeah sorry it just sits you" my mom use to call me that. "Come and eat I made chicken with pasta and sauce". Okay I'm coming but you think you could help me my numbing medicine has worn off. So now my stomach really hurts, "yeah sure" he comes up to me and picks me off the couch and then puts me on the chair at the table. You know I didn't mean for you to carry me just to help me up, "well then I was being really helpful then now come on eat your food". Wow Anderson I never thought the big bad beast would know how to cook. "Oh come on Rodriquez don't look to surprise I'm not that spoiled plus my mom made this for me all the time." Okay,okay I'll give you that where is your mom? He stiffens and puts his fork, down you don't have to tell me I'm sorry I asked James I reach over and put my hand on his he stiffen a little before he relaxed. "No it's fine I'll tell you but I want something from you" umm what is that exactly "I want you to tell me about your, parents". Humm okay deal "deal" you first. "Come on let's move to the couch if we're going to have story time" okay let me take my medicine before. We move to the couch and I take my infection medicine but hold off my pain medicine. "Okay when I was little my mother got really sick she was fine for little bit but then got worse. A week before my birthday my mother made me promise her, to never let anything get me down and continue being happy but I broke that promise because she died that night. A day before my birthday we had the ceremony and the next day on my birthday we buried her what kid could he happy after that. So since then I have hated my birthday and feel like if I can't enjoy my birthday then no one can". Well I'm up so before I moved here I was happy but my mom she died on a head on collision one night. Picking me up from a friends house my dad he got really depressed and couldn't stand living their so he moved us here he blamed me so he told me I can't have any friends. I only told him parts I can't have him knowing everything yet. I took my pill because my pain was coming back we sat there in silence for a couple of minutes and then everything started to fade out so I laid back and closed my eyes for a little but then I felt. Someone start to pick me up I smelled and it was James so I did something I normally don't do I snuggled closer to him. And gripped my arms around his neck. We headed to I'm guessing his room or the guest bedroom but the whole bed smelled like him so mostly likely his. He was releasing me and turns to walk away but I grip his hand stay.. please I smile weakly at him "sure let me get changed do you want to borrow a shirt?" Yes please he pulls his shirt that he's wearing over his head and hands it to me "I'll be right go ahead and change in here if you want." I change quickly and wait for him to get out do you have an extra tooth brush "yeah sure in there second cabinet on your right" I get up and go brush my teeth he's already changed into boxers. So I go and lay down I feel the bed dip and I know he's right next to me he does something I never thought he would do, he wraps his arms around my waist carefully and pulls me so my back is to his chest. Surprisingly I feel safe and loved so I let out a content sigh and let the darkness consume me.
