I woke up to the sound of loud music. Whelp, Kyle is up. I got out of bed and stretched. I then got up and walked out of my room. In the living room was Kyle jumping on the couch, still in his pyjamas, singing along to Sweet Children from Kerplunk, Green Day's second album.
"Johnny Ray is running again, as he hits the floor again! Running from the light of day, or maybe lie and celebrate! The slightest urge comes from his hands, follow me if you understand! He's got the trigger on his gun, final sin and now he runs! Sweet children! Sweet children! Sweet children! Remember when! Sweet children! Sweet children! Sweet children! Remember when!" He sang as he played the air guitar.
He looked over and saw me watching him. He pressed pause on his CD player and jumped off of the couch.
"Good morning Erin!" He said happily. I smiled, "Good morning Kyle. I see you got up early." I said.
"Don't I always?" He said with a sly smile. I chuckled and nodded my head. He was right. Every morning.
"Did you have breakfast yet?" I asked. He nodded his head no. I turned on M.T.V. for him and he sat down and watched. I walked into the kitchen and poured him a bowl of cereal. I walked back over to him, gave him the cereal, and sat next to him.
"So, do you know what's tomorrow?" I asked. He looked a bit confused.
"No, what's up?" He asked. I sighed and shook my head.
"November 10th" I said. He still looked confused. "It's your birthday, dummie!" I said with a laugh.
"Oh! How the heck did I forget that?" He asked. I laughed
"I don't know! We invited friends over and everything!" I said. Kyle sighed and facepalmed. "Anyways, Kyle, I have something very special for you. I wanted to give it to you privately, but there will be friends over tomorrow, so I'm going to give you thins now." I said. He nodded. He looked very excited.
I ran into my room and grabbed an envelope. An envelope that will make Kyle the happiest kid on the planet. I ran back into the living room to an anxious looking Kyle.
"Now, Kyle, before I give you this, you have to promise me that it will taken care of." I said. He nodded rapidly. "Okay. Here you go dude." I said with a smile as I handed him the envelope.
He opened it up and dumped out what was in it.
"Hey, be careful with those." I said. He nodded and picked them up. He studied them and then screamed.
"You got us tickets to see Green Day?!" He yelled. I laughed and nodded my head. He jumped up and down and tackled me in a hug. It actually knocked me over.
"Thank you so much Erin! Thank you thank you thank you! I love you!" He said. I laughed.
"You're welcome bud. I love you, too. Oh yeah, guess what." I said. He looked at me. "It's in a week!" I said. I swear, he had the biggest smile on his face. He didn't say anything. He just screamed.
I grabbed the tickets and set them on the table. I then grabbed a pen, walked over to the calendar, and wrote 'Green Day concert' on November 17, 1994.
