Chapter 1: Life in Human Society

Beep beep beep........ Tak!!

I woke up after I switched off the alarm and started my morning routine as usual to prepare myself for school. After I was done, I drank a cup of blood and left my house.

15 minutes later I was standing in front of Yonsei University, a human university.

It was actually my own decision to attend an human university even though my parents were a little bit unhappy with my decision. They thought, why do I need to attend a human university instead of vampire or witch university when I was the only rare but powerful kind, The Witch Vampire.

I am a witch vampire because my father is a vampire while my mother is a witch. I was considered as a special one because the probability of having a witch vampire baby is very low, and during that time, there was only one witch vampire existed in the whole world. Most of the witch wife with vampire husband gets to pregnant, but the baby were unable to survive for more than 3 months. However, my mother actually pregnant for 9 months and it was considered as another miracle to the magical world because if I was born successfully, I'll become the second witch vampire. I was born healthily but my mother died while giving birth to me.

My father still loves and takes good care of me after my mother's death because he promised my mother that he will take care of me before she dies. 1 year later, my father remarried another vampire. She was beautiful, kind and treats me as her own child.

I left my family when I was 10 to study sorcery at a top private school for witches in Seoul and was graduated from there when I was 18. After graduation, I was interested in human nature so I've decided to further my study at a human university. My parents were against it at first because of my safety but I promised them I will not expose my magical side to the humans. So they allowed it and I am now studying in this university that I was standing in front of.

As I was walking to my classroom, most of the boys looked at me because I was considered as one of the beauties in the university although I don't really care about it. 

I continue my walk to the classroom and Kang Sulyeon's face appeared the moment I open the door.

"Yah, Jungri! You're finally here! I was getting so bored just now so I thought I'll wait you at the front gate but now you are here." said Sulyeon happily.

I just laughed and we walked to our seats together.

Kang Sulyeon, another beauty in the university, is my first and only human friend. I remember when I was on my first day in university she was the only one who approached me and be friends with me. She helped me in adjusting my life in the human society even though she didn't know I wasn't a human. She was being so nice to me that's why I didn't tell her about the magical world despite our closeness because she would be in danger if she knows about it.

"Sulyeon." Someone called her while we are chit-chatting. Sulyeon turned her face searching for the person who called her. A guy walked towards her and stopped in front of her. It turns out that the guy was Junyong, Sulyeon's ex-boyfriend.

"What do you want?" Sulyeon asked with slight anger.

"I'm leaving Seoul tomorrow and I'm going to ask you again, are you sure you don't want to come with me? I'm sure we can fix our problem and restart everything together again." Junyong asked.

"We had already broke up and this is the last time I'll ever answer your question, I'M NOT GOING WITH YOU. We're done, cheater." said Sulyeon with cold expression.

"Sulyeon, I can explain!" Junyong tried to retain her. "No, I won't listen to any of your stupid excuse anymore, so please, get out of my sight." Sulyeon turned her face away from Junyong.

"But-" Junyong still trying to explain but Sulyeon shouts at him angrily, "I said GET OUT!!!"

Junyong looks hurt after what she said, "Kang Sulyeon, if this is what you want, then fine, I'll get out from your life but if you ever want to come back, remember that I'll always be here waiting for you." He sighed then left the classroom and our classmate started to gossip about what they saw.

"Are you sure you want to break up with him? I think he still loves you by the way he was acting just now." I said softly trying not to make her angry.

"If he really loves me then he shouldn't have cheated on me in first place!" Sulyeon said angrily.

"Maybe it's just a misunderstanding, and honestly, I don't think he's that kind of guy who cheats." I continue to persuade her.

"Jeon Jungri, I swear I'll kill you if you still trying to stood up for that idiot." Sulyeon stares at me angrily.

"Fine woman, I won't talk about him anymore." I said trying to calm her down.

The lecturer came in afterwards and the lesson begins. After two hours, the lesson ended and the class were dismissed. Sulyeon and I packed our stuff as we decided to go to cafeteria for lunch.

While we are on the way, some of the students look at Sulyeon and started whispering to each other. They are probably gossiping about Sulyeon's broke up with Junyong, I thought. But Sulyeon continued to walk as if she didn't listen to all the gossips.

After a small walk we arrived at the cafeteria. We each grab a plate of food and found a table to sit on. We started to eat after we are seated.

"Jungri, do you still remember Namjoon?" Sulyeon suddenly asked.

"Of course I remember, he's the one who told you that Junyong was cheating right?" I said.

"Yeah. Well, he just confessed his feelings to me yesterday." Sulyeon said shyly.

"What?" I almost choked when she said that, "But I remember you guys just met each other from like, 5 days ago? And now he has a crush on you?" I asked in amazement.

She nodded and said, "He said he falls for me the moment we met each other."

"Then do you like him?" I asked.

"Yes, I do. After I broke up with Junyong, I was drawn by him and I know it might sounds crazy, but I think I fall for him too." Sulyeon blushed as she said, "Do you think I should accept him?"

"Well if you guys love each other then why not?" I rightly asked.

"So you think I should accept him too?" Sulyeon joyfully asked.

I nodded. "Okay then I will give him my answer tonight." said Sulyeon with a bright smile and asked, "I gotta go to attend classes now, you don't have class later right?"

"Yeah, I'll go back home after I finish my lunch." I said.

"Then I'll see you tomorrow, bye." Sulyeon said before leaving.

"Bye." I said as I watched her leaving.

After she left, I can't help but start to think about this Namjoon guy that Sulyeon was talking about. I don't know why but my intuition tells me that something is fishy about this guy, could it be..... No way, perhaps I was just being suspicious.
