A mother's love was like no other.

Pure, unconditional, selfless, unwavering.

Alas, when a mother's heart

was yet again broken to pieces,

the Lady of Hydmill mourned

for the death of the beloved beast.

Another son, another child was taken from her loving arms.

William, oh, her poor son!

Mercilessly stabbed in the heart.

Why? What had he ever done?

She but cried out in pain,

cursed in hateful screams for cruel Fate.

She just wanted to have a babe;

to hold, to care, to enclose in her embrace.

But she was yet again robbed of her joy,

and now she swore she'd have no more.

The Lady of Hydmill stripped all of her beliefs,

she traveled far to acquire what her heart seek.

Fear was banished from her chest, desperation reigned,

and onto the dark eastern lands her foot had set.

Secrets... Secrets lie in the kingdom of East,

home to the grotesque, to the wielders of black magic.

There lived Arkunna, the feared black mage,

the one who rode magnificent flying beasts,

sending blue fires to burn down his enemies.

Face contorted with hideous scars,

his voice brought forth malice, malevolence.

It was he whom Lady Hydmill seek,

for the powerful Arkunna could give her

the child she so desperately wished.

A child... a child of unnatural birth;

a babe born from the ashes,

conjured from dragon's fire, and dragon's precious gold.

But to strike a deal with darkness' spawn,

she needed to bargain her soul.

The Lady of Hydmill was heavy with child,

but upon birth, she'd be a dragon for every waking night.
