A/N: I really wasn't happy with how this chapter flowed, but oh, well. It was so hard to write it and I apologize 'cause I think it's a little boring. But enjoy none-the-less. [:
We were at the movies. I forgot what we were watching. I was asleep. I felt my body being shaken and someone call my name. I didn't want to open my eyes. I was too tired.
"Delilah! Babe, wake up. The movie's over. We have to go." I smiled still refusing to open my eyes and turned my head away from him. "Oh, so that's how it is?" He laughed. "Oh, come on. Wake up for me? Please?" His voice turned into a whisper as his lips brushed against mine. My eyes fluttered open to see him in front of me with a victorious smile on his face. "Oh, she wakes!" I giggled, rubbing my eyes as I shook my head.
"We can leave now, yes? We've been here all dayyyy." I whined. He just chuckled as his grabbed my hand and led me outside to the car. He was a good guy then. I loved him. I miss him...
"Delilah!" Smack! "Delilah!" Smack! I screamed and opened my eyes as Lindsay was raising her hand to slap my cheek again.
"Mother ducker! Did you really have to resort to pimp slapping me?!" I yelled at her as I sat up, rubbing my sore cheeks. "I pass out and you hit me to revive me. My oh so wonderful savior." I laughed sarcastically lifting on eyebrow at her. In a way, I was glad she wasn't so gentle. She thought of the quickest solution and took it, even if it did mean I was in for a beating. But she kept me strong all these years. I wouldn't have been able to go through any of this shit if she wasn't around.
"Of course!" She giggled. "You know how I am when you are in distress." That caused me to smile even though I felt like I couldn't breathe. "So, what happened? Why did we have to leave?" The moment her words crossed her lips, my smiled faded and my face sunk.
"He's back... Adriel's back..." I whispered almost too low for Linds to hear.
"Wh-What?" I looked up at her, the emotions flooding through her features was terrifying. Fear, shock, anger, and finally sadness. I looked back at my hands, twiddling my thumbs. "What are you going to do?" I sighed and shook my head.
"I don't know. What can I do? I never reported him." I looked up again, Lindsay was fuming.
"You told me you did! What the fuck were you thinking?!" She lifted her hands angrily in the air and kicked the sofa. "I knew I should've called the cops! I knew you wouldn't! Fuck, Delilah!" I was starting to cry. She saw this and her features softened. "I'm sorry. I'm just scared. I remember how bad he hurt you." I nodded, accepting her apology, tracing the scar on my leg. Over the last year I've been trying to forget that night. I still have nightmares.
"No. It's okay. I think I might just be paranoid. Sorry. Who knows. It could've even been my dad texting my from one of his whore's cell." I laughed, trying to cover the uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. "Come on, let's watch a movie." I smiled already walking to her movie collection. Reluctantly she agreed, knowing I wasn't really calm. We had a movie marathon. I needed a distraction.
Apparently, the distraction didn't work. Before I could control it, my mind was back on Adriel. How he was before he met Charles and was brain washed by him. He was so sweet, caring. I missed that Adriel...
I was crying as he pinned me down. I begged him to let me go but that only made him angry. He forced his lips onto mine. With all my will I tried to keep my lips sealed, but he pried my mouth open with his tongue, searching my mouth with it. I screamed as I bit his tongue hard, hoping it hurt terribly. He pulled back, fury in his eyes and punched me in the face. The whole side of my face screamed in pain. I saw something shiny in the corner of my eyes and I froze when the edge was pressed to my neck.
"Do something stupid like that, and you won't even be around to disobey me." He hissed in my ear. I felt a pinch and a flow of liquid on my neck. I began crying again and he slapped me. "You owe me this. If a man wants sex, he's gonna fucking get it!" I tried to keep my sobs silent so that he wouldn't hit me again. I closed my eyes, trying to transport my mind to a better place until he was done.
I woke up with Lindsay shaking me by my shoulder. "Get off of meee!" I screamed at the top of my lungs before I realized it was her. She backed off scared, like she had done something wrong. I immediately felt guilty. "Sorry... I thought you were him..." I whispered.
"Oh. No wonder you were crying." She came up to me cupping my face, rubbing my tears away with her thumbs. "He's not here to hurt you anymore, hun. I'll make sure he doesn't come back ever again." I sniffled a bit and hugged her. She always looked out for me like I was her baby sister. She was the entire reason I was still alive.
"Thanks for everything." I smiled and kissed her on the cheek before parting. "So, another movie?" She nodded excitedly and handed me my phone.
"You've gotten like five messages." She looked a little worried but gave me my phone none the less.
'5 Unread Messages' was on the screen on my iPhone. When I read the first one, my heart fluttered.
'Hey! It's Nathan. Just thought I would say hi. I want to hang out with you again sometime.' I loved how he actually typed out his words, I hated people who overused acronyms and spelled things all stupid. I smiled then looked at the next one.
'Hey! It's Nathan again. I think Kia misses you, you should come over.'
'Hey again. Are things better with you? Your dad hasn't done anything, right?'
'Hey, I'm starting to get a little worried. Are you hurt?'
'Okay... I bet I seem crazy now... Text me whenever. Sorry...' I laughed. He was so cute. I showed the messages to Linds and she smiled a little.
"Just be careful, hun." I nodded and replied to Nathan.
'Sorry I took so long. I've had a long day. I'm perfectly fine, though. I'm with my friend. I'll stop by tomorrow, okay? :]' I smiled and put my phone back in my bag before getting up to go to the kitchen. Looking out of the kitchen window, I swore I saw a shadow move. I squinted my eyes trying to focus.
I froze and screamed.
