We all who watched the genre know this:
"[Protagonist] finds an injured pet, saves it and afterwards, the pet talks and tells her that she comes from space, and [Protagonist] is the chosen one and the princess of [Kingdom], then the pet gives her a pendant or charm, she does not know how to use it, so the pet says: "Say [Transformation Phrase]!", and the pet(s) know everything about the threat."
It is overused now, even if used as the bad guy, like Kyuubey from Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica.
How to Modify
-Let an actual person be the wise one. Pets can act like any other pet(well, my OC Tain is an alien and has a griffon-like monster as a pet, and it does not talk. Tain is the wise one)
