Kira's POV

My eyes were trying their hardest to shut, but I continued to force them open. I was so tired I could barely stand it. The Council for the vampires had been talking about a bunch of different things...Boring things. They'd only just now moved on to strategies for the new war against the wolves.

Luckily I wasn't the only one bored out of my mind. Oliver had been off in la-la- land for over in hour at the beginning of the meeting, and Noah continued to sigh heavily, sending a message that he wanted the meeting to end.

As I listened to the voice of Oliver's dad, Dominick, or Nick or Dom for short, my eyes fluttered shut and for a moment I thought I was going to fall asleep. I wasn't aloud to go up to my room according to Oliver, and didn't want to go to sleep in case anything on Sam came up so snapped my eyes open and sat up straighter. The only time I'd left the room was to use the restroom over an hour ago.

Dominick smiled and chuckled just a bit.

"Oliver, why don't you let the poor human go to bed. It's five in the morning; she's exhausted." Dominick said, giving me a warm smile. I could tell where Sam had gotten his kindness from.

"Father, why don't you let the poor Riken go to bed. It's five in the morning; he's exhausted." Oliver said, mocking his dad's tone and wording.

My shoulders shook with laughter that I was holding in while Noah and Nicholas openly laughed. Dominick gave Oliver a look that seemed appropriate for a dad.

"Don't be such a child about it; we're nearly done anyway. We just need to set a baseline for a strategy."

"I think Oliver has a point Dominck. We've been at this for hours." Nicholas said.

At once, nearly the entire Council groaned and sighed.

"This is why we shouldn't have such young vampires running the Serif. They complain to much about things that need to be done." One of them said. I think he was the one called Draacus, but I wasn't sure. The others agreed with him and soon there was laughter filling the stale air. I had no idea what they were talking about, but Oliver didn't seem amused. Neither did Noah or Nicholas.

"Alright, we need to get this finished!" Lucius said above all the noise. He didn't have to raise his voice much to silence the others.

As the conversation began again, Noah grabbed my arm, as he and Oliver had been doing all night, and took three large gulps from my wrist before pulling back.

Arguments broke out here and there about different actions and plans, but I stayed quiet. I didn't want to upset Oliver, although he seemed to be in a good mood still.

They'd been discussing and talking about different plans for over an hour, skipping around to different problems throughout the clans. While they were all good, there was always something that others didn't like. They tried putting things together and taking things away from different strategies but no matter what they did, they couldn't agree.

Currently, there was a white board that had territories near the north that were having trouble, and currently the Council was devising a plan to take out two large packs that were terrorizing the vampires.

The wolves from both back packs were crossing through to the vampires territory. Because of the new war, all werewolves were removed from the territories of vampires and vise versa. The upper pack was joining with the lower on bigger battles, making it difficult to defeat them.

"I think we should just have a massive army at the border, attack the lower pack, then once that's finished the upper pack will be a piece of cake." Nicholas said.
