Chapter 11

Kira's POV

Boom, boom, boom.

I woke up to my head throbbing to my every heartbeat. I groaned and reached up to touch it. I couldn't remember why it hurt. I was laying down on something relatively comfortable. I opened my eyes and slowly sat up. I looked over and saw a strange guy in the.... Cart? Room?... with me. I looked out the window and saw that we were moving really fast. I was pretty sure that I was on a train, even though I'd never seen one in person.

"Where am I?" I asked, sounding sort of sleepy.

He grinned at me with perfect teeth. I couldn't tell if he was tall because he was sitting down, but he was certainly muscular and tanned. His short blond hair went good with his green eyes. I didn't think he was a vampire, but I wasn't sure what else he'd be. Maybe human? He couldn't be a werewolf, right.

"On a train to DC." He said, like I'd be happy about it.

I was trying to remember how my head had gotten hurt, but there seemed to be a large gap in my memories

"Where's Sam?"

"Who?" He asked, giving me a weird look. Now I was worried. If I wasn't here because of Sam, then why was I?

"Who are you? How'd I get here with you?" I asked.

"Names Zaylen, I'm the Beta of the Embit Pack. And we saved you." He said, smiling at me.

There were hundreds of different smaller packs that belonged to certain, larger, clans. But I'd never heard of this one.

"I don't think I needed to be saved! But I can't remember anything." I said, holding my head. I'd never met a werewolf before. Why did he think he was saving me.

"Why did you 'save' me anyway?" I added.

"You were with the Solivor of the Ibitario Clan. I figured if we were attacking him then we'd bring you with us." He said.

"The Solivor? Are you sure it wasn't the Mika? And why were you attacking?!" I said frantically. Was Sam okay??

"I'm sure." He said chuckling. I didn't even know who the Solivor was.

"And do they not tell you anything? We're in a war. Why would we not attack? Although he managed to fight us off. He must've been looking for you because he followed us until we we crossed back into our territory.

"Why was I with the Solivor? I've never even met him before. I'm so confused." I said to myself.

"Well you hit your head pretty hard. You probably have a bit of amnesia. Sorry about that, I didn't think it would make the car roll like that.

"You have to take me back! I can't leave Sam." I said firmly, before I processed what he'd said.

"Take you back? You were a slave there. I'm sure you'll be much happier in DC with the other humans. Besides, I'm not sure I'd even be able to bring you back. And if you mean Sam the Mika then you won't find him there anyway. He's actually closer to DC." The wolf said, looking at me like I was mental.

"Why is he over there?"

"I don't know. Why would he tell ME the reason he went to the eastern clan of vampires?"

He had a good point, but I got the feeling I'd ticked him off because I wasn't happy about him taking me from the vampires.

"We have a pack doctor. I'll have him check on your mental stability." He said. I wasn't sure if he was joking or not at this point. He got up and left the compartment and I found myself alone.
