I'd just like to take a moment to think about how I've made it to chapter 30 (31 parts). I could never do it without my fans!
I just wanted to let you know that there will only be 36 chapters in this book (37 parts in all) but that there WILL be a second book! I'll release the name and its description at the end of the 35th chapter! :)
I love you all! XOXO -Ash
Kira's POV
After the depressing conversation with Oliver, he led me out of his room and walked with me all the way down the stairs. We walked in silence, neither of us knowing what to say. We were heading to Dionysia's room so that she could heal my head and my arm that wasn't broken, but was still in a lot of pain.
We rounded the last steps to head toward her room when I heard my name called.
"Kira!"
I turned to see who had said it, only to be engulfed in a hug before I could see who my attacker was.
"I'm glad you're okay. I was worried about you." I heard Simon say. I also heard a low growl escape Oliver...
"Simon." I croaked.
"Yeah?"
"I can't breathe." I stated. He instantly let go of me, allowing me to get a lungful of air.
"Sorry." He said with a smile and a nervous laugh. I grinned back.
"Don't be."
"So how are you, uh, feeling?" He asked, glancing at Oliver who was glaring at him.
"I'm fine, but Dionysia is going to heal my head. I've got a nasty cut on it, but other than that I'm great." I said, smiling again. He let out a sigh of relief.
"Good, lets keep it that way." He said, smiling slyly at me, but I knew he was sending a message to Oliver as well. It was obvious in his tone. I gave him a look, but he simply shrugged it off.
"Why aren't you working again?" Oliver asked, glaring at Simon. Simon swallowed and simply waved at me and left the room.
"Stupid human." Oliver muttered under his breath.
"Well at least he isn't a stupid vampire." I said quietly. Oliver's head snapped down to look at me. I gave him a fake innocent smile and winked. Before he could say anything I continued to walk to Dionysia's room, leaving him behind.
He easily caught up, but I could tell his demeanor was calmer.
"Kira, I also forgot to tell you that the Ball will be held in three days. I'll be gone a lot because technically I'm the 'host' and I have to oversee everything to make sure it will be a smooth night." Oliver said just as we were outside the infirmary.
"Oh, okay. Am I going to the Ball as well?" I asked.
"Duh, I don't know who else I'd bring with me." He said, rolling his eyes.
"I was only checking. No need to be rude." I huffed out, giving him a look. He looked down at me and chuckled to himself.
It was a deep sound that sent shivers down my spine. Then when he smiled at me I found myself having trouble breathing. I easily smiled back, even though my internal organs were doing gymnastics.
He didn't follow me in because he had to leave. I felt my stomach drop when he said goodbye. His hand lightly brushed my face and for a brief moment I was staring into his eyes before he flashed away. I entered the room feeling empty.

Vampire"What is it about you, Kira?" Oliver asked, more to himself than me, in a whisper. I could hardly breathe with him being so close and my heart was pounding almost painfully hard. "I don't know what you mean." I answered in an out of breathe manner...
