Baby Tiger!

Prologue

Living with a pack of Tigers is not as fun as you think it is. No, it’s not what you think. Hindi mga totoong tigre ang tinutukoy ko. What I meant was, kami. Kaming mga Tigers. The UST Growling Tigers. Hindi madaling mag-share ng isang bahay. Hindi madaling makisama with nine other guys who unfortunately have different preferences when it comes to things na kailangang ipag-agree as a group. We may play the same game, and we scream one name, but we’re still humans. Ibang-iba kami sa isa’t-isa.

Si Teng, Kim, at Kent.

Pare-parehas silang singkit. Pare-parehas rin silang may Chinese blood. At pare-parehas silang mga tahimik. Pero, Jeric likes to sleep with the lights off. Si Kim naman, lights on. At si Kent, whichever siyempre, kasi bunso naman siya. He has to live up with the decisions of his Kuya Tigers.

Si Kevin, Paulo, at Karim.

Pare-parehas silang matatangkad at nag-eexcel sa sports nila. Pero, si Kevin, makapal ang mukha. Kung saan-saang trip siya sumusuot. Si Paulo naman, duwag at mahiyain. Sorry for the word pero ganyan talaga si tropa, eh. Si Karim, neutral lang. Kahit confident, grounded pa rin. Pero, siyempre, may mga times na kailangan niyang matakot rin, diba?

Si Tata, Ed, Aljon, at Sheriff.

Sila yung mga…Hmm, let’s say, mga buddies in height. Medyo average lang ang kanilang height. Sila yung usual na jokers ng Tigers. Laging nagpapatawa, kung baga. Lagi silang nakangiti at lagi ring tumatawa. Kaya naman siguro ang baho ng mga kwarto nila, noh? Haha! Joke lang, siyempre. Pero, sa tuwing kumakain, si Tata at Ed ang mahilig magluto tas si Aljon at Jamil naman, walang kaalam-alam sa kusina. Kesyu magluto lang ng hotdog, hindi kinakayanan kasi takot raw matalsikan ng mantika.

What I’m trying to say is, these small difference make a big change. At ‘pag pinag-combine mo ang mga difference ng mga ito at ipinagtapat sa differences ng iba, siyempre, World War III ang peg nito. Joke! Basta, my point is, it’s hard to live up with these differences. But they’re brothers. Brothers in their game, and brothers-at-heart. And that’s what makes them different.

Now, let’s get to know this “house” of theirs.

First thing’s first: Yung house nila is not a house. It’s an office-residence building. And they live in a flat on the 7th (out of 20) floors, to be exact. Room 705 yung sa kanila. It’s a two-floored flat, which means na may second floor yung room nila. It’s sponsored by UST. Mahirap raw kasi na magpabalik-balik pa ng bahay kasi panay na ang kanilang mga trainings.

It’s spacious. Siyempre, hindi naman yata nasasang-ayon sa kanilang sitwasyon na may sampung taong titira dito kung hindi ito kalakihan. Sa first floor, nandoon yung sala, kitchen, dining room, at entertainment room nila along with two guest rooms and two bathrooms. Doon minsan natutulog si Karim kasi he said it’s cold there. Alam mo naman, the big man needs to “chill”.

Pag-panik mo ng stairs is the second floor. May anim na kwarto dito, two of them with attached bathrooms. Sa mismong pag-panik mo, makakasalubong mo yung first and second room na magkatapatan. Si Jeric at Kim ang nag-shashare ng first room. Sa second naman, si Tata at Ed. Third is for the big man and the little man, Karim and Sheriff. Yung fourth room is tapat ng first room. Doon naman natutulog sina Kevin at Paulo. Kasunod nila is an extra room. Madalas kasi bumibisita si Forts sa flat nila kaya ginawang room na rin niya yun. And the last is for Aljon and the bunso, Kent.

Pero, due to personal reasons, si Sheriff at si Kent, paminsan-minsan na lang ang pag-stay sa dorm. Medyo attached pa rin yata sa mga families nila. Kaya, party-party sina Karim at Aljon dahil solo nila ang kanilang kwarto.

Ayan, at least you have an idea of what the Tigers’ den looks like. At kahit sponsored siya ng UST, nag-aabot pa rin sila ng makakayanan nila. Nakakahiya raw kasi, eh. Siyempre, mga Tomasino at heart talaga. :)
