"Crash! Boom! Crash!"
These were the only sounds I heard as I was running home after being dropped off by my school bus. I ran home as fast as I could, trying not to slip from running in the rain. It was hard to see with my glasses all foggy and wet from the rain.
"FUCK! I CAN'T SEE A DAMN THING!" I shouted.
I couldn't even hear myself talk, much less think.
"Slightly heavy showers my ass." I muttered to myself, thinking back to the weather report I saw on my phone.
As I try to get my bearings in the storm, I find a house that I do not recognize. I remember that several months ago, I saw workers building a very big house, big enough to be a mansion even. It was too hard to see in this rain, but it seemed like it was finished. I assumed as much because I think I saw the lights on, and If I remember correctly, I think I saw people leaving and entering the building. They must have been rich to be able to afford a mansion on a nice landscape. I didn't get a good look at the residents, but I think I saw what looked like a butler opening a door for a girl the other day.
As I TRY to run home, I look as hard as I can for my house. I can almost tell where I'm going just by making out the colors and shapes of houses. I've lived in this community for 3 years know, and I can even tell where things are just by the curves of the streets and the houses.
"Oh thank god!", I say as I'm rushing to my porch and unlock the door.
I quickly throw my jacket and book bag off onto the couch next to the door and make my way to my mom's room, waiting for her to laugh or say something of concern for my safety. It could go either way.
"Heeeey" I say nonchalantly as I pop my head into her room,
"What's up?" she says with a slightly cheerful tone,
"Florida, duh."
"What, you got caught in the rain?
I spread out my arms and step into the light for her to see my clearly soaked body,
"Oh! Hehehe!"
Like I said, it could go either way. But I know my mom was worried, she's a mother after all, the good kind in my opinion. She just doesn't say that she's worried.
"Did you check your phone?" she asked,
"It died, and I can't use a touch screen in the rain anyway." I replied,
"Oh, ok. Cuz I was callin' ya."
"Oh, sorry." I say, still slightly agrivated at my current state.
I realized that I was being a little inconsiderate towards a mother's feelings, but I was to tired and wasn't in the mood to care right now.
"Danny didn't drive you?" She asked,
"He wasn't here today. I would've asked If he was." I replied.
Danny is my best friend, But I usually call him "Dan". His full name is Danny Benjamin Kusou. His Step-mother calls him Danial though. I've known him since I was six. He's kind of a delinquent, but he's actually a really cool guy. He's the kind of person who will beat the ever living shit out of someone who picks on someone in a horrible way, whether it be me or someone else. But his soft side is what I like most about him. You'll understand what I mean soon.
"Oh...Well if you're hungry, there's still chicken pasta in the there."
"Nah, I'm good." I say with a slight smile,
