When Kari and Chase woke up they got a few more items for their trip then went to the Circle of mystery around noon. They then traveled to the feudal era.
"Hello Kari, hello Chase. You seem to have gotten a bit taller." One of the village people said kindly while bowing in respect once Kari arrived in Kaede's village. Kari returned the respectful bow while Chase did the same.
"Hello miss. Thank you, I guess I'm growing a bit." The child replied then went onwards to Kaede's hut, Chase trotting to her right happily. Kari had grown at least five inches ever since her first arrival in feudal Japan.
Once the child was in Kaede's hut she smiled and waved. "Hi Kaede." Kari greeted while Chase cooed his greeting.
"Hello child." Kaede said with a smile. "The others are scattered throughout the village and will be back soon. Maybe you should stay close by so when they come back you all are ready to go." Kari nodded then went outside and decided to make dirt castles to pass the time.
"... I wonder what it'll be like when we travel again. I also wonder what it'll be like when school starts back up... It'll be only a few weeks until entrance exams, then after that is the ceremony. To make it worse is I'll be going into tenth grade... Oh geez..." Kari sighed. Chase looked at Kari in confusion. "Huh? Oh, school is a thing in my time that kids go to for a few hours a day for five days a week, with the exception of holidays. There they learn about stuff that supposedly helps them out in life. In my time, people value knowledge more than anything else. Oh, even though I'm twelve I'm in a higher grade, I think Kagome will share the same grade as me this year. Hmm... " Kari hummed in thought while Chase nodded at her explanation of school, understanding what it was to an extent.
After a while Shippo and Kirara arrived from whatever they were doing. The two played with Kari and Chase happily for a while just to pass the time. After a while everyone was together and getting ready to go. While everyone was getting ready, Inuyasha volunteered to watch over Kari for the time being.
The two sat outside Kaede's hut and watched the clouds in a nearby tree, high above the ground. They stayed silent as they stared at the pure white cotton candy in the sky.
"Hey," Inuyasha finally spoke. Kari looked at him. "You wanna get stronger?" He asked. Kari blinked then looked down, keeping quiet. "Well?! Say something!" Inuyasha snapped. Kari flinched.
"... Y-Yeh... Maybe." She stammered after a while. Inuyasha huffed.
"First of all, quit bein' so shy! If you're gonna protect yourself then you gotta be confident in your skills, don't let people walk all over you."
"Kay." Kari nodded with an unsure tone.
"Good. We'll practice while traveling. We'll see what you're good at. The whole group will help train you to get stronger." Kari blinked in shock and stared at the half demon.
"... The whole group? ... Train me? ... Well, at least I won't be a burden anymore, for the most part..." Kari nodded.
"Alright. Thank you." She gave a shy smile. Inuyasha nodded in reply. Eventually the group set off on their journey, after Inuyasha told everyone he told Kari they would all train Kari. It looked like they all had agreed to train the girl before hand.
The group of eight trekked to a village that was nearby because they heard rumors of a demon that had a shikon jewel shard in its possession.
"So, this is a pretty strong demon." Shippo stated once they were a ways away from Kaede's village.
"That's what I heard." Miroku stated. "And it's even stronger because of the jewel shard it has." Kari hummed in thought as she walked onward. "The rumors say that it's a Wanyūdō, A flaming wheel with a man's head in the center that sucks out the soul of anyone who gets too close to it." Miroku informed the others.
