The weeks went by and it was now the day before the night of the new moon. Kari was a bit nervous since she had always fallen asleep in the past before seeing Inuyasha's human form, so she was never able to see what he looked like as a human nor could she help. But now Kari could help and she wanted to be sure that he could depend on her since he would lose all of his demonic abilities and would be unable to protect everyone. That morning Kari focused on training and getting stronger so she was ready for anything. Inuyasha soon approached her from the tree he was napping in, since the group stopped for a quick break to refill their water at a spring.
He stopped across from the girl then spoke. "Are you sure that you can do this?" Inuyasha asked, referring for the night to come. The girl looked in the half demon's eyes. Deep in her own eyes was a flame of bravery and determination that flicked and burned brightly. She nodded with a confident smirk and the two got took a fighting stance. They rushed at each other for a quick sparring session. Kari held back Inuyasha, who attempted to overpower the girl.
"Earth dragon." Kari growled and her skin turned into rough brown scales with a few cracks and some scales growing off of her jawline, a tail grew with the ball end of a mace at the tip, large bat-like wings, deer-like ears, thick black horns that curled like ram horns, sharp talons, and some earth brown streaks in her hair going from the tips inward. Kari smirked and threw Inuyasha backwards then jumped up. A hole formed where she was staring and the girl fell in it, the hole closed up soon afterwards. Inuyasha chuckled and stood still, listening, waiting.
The ground shook and Kari popped out of a hole behind Inuyasha. "Gaia kick!" Kari roared and wound up a kick, only to have it blocked. "Mountain clash!" She called and two large, mountain shaped pillars emerged from the ground and began to close Inuyasha in. The half demon barely made it.
"Adamant Barrage!" Inuyasha called after drawing his Tetsusaiga. Kari widened her eyes then scurried underground. Inuyasha followed her with his guard up. He gasped lightly at the many tunnels that he could barely fit in. That was when Kagome called out.
"Hey, time to head out." She called. Inuyasha hopped out of the tunnels and Kari sighed. The child flew out of her tunnels and landed safely on the ground. She tapped the ground with her right foot and stretched her wings before going back to normal. "That was pretty smart, using your tunnels like that." Kagome praised the child. Kari giggled shyly as she grabbed her things and tying her black hoodie around her waist.
"So, we're heading towards the mountain?" Kari called while relaxing on Chase's back. She was mainly watching as the sun set slowly.
"Yes." Miroku replied. "I believe it's Mount Hakurei, it looks like it from here." He informed. Kari hummed and nodded in reply. Soon it was time to stop for the day and the group had to stay in a the forest towards the close to the base of Mount Hakurei. Kari stayed up and kept watch. Sango watched the child as well as Kagome. The boys were out hunting for food for dinner.
"Kari," Sango called and the child turned her head to look at the older woman over her shoulder. "Will you be alright?" She asked. Kari smirked confidentiality then nodded.
"Yeh! I'll be fine." Kari giggled. Pretty soon the boys were back with food and Kari helped cook it. After they ate, everyone got ready for bed. The child stared at Inuyasha as he changed from half demon to full human form.
"What're you starin at?" He asked in slight annoyance.
Kari jolted. "Nothing!" She swiftly replied and averted her gaze. After the others fell asleep, Kari heard a rustling in the bushes near by. The girl growled and readied her weapons. She inched towards the sound on high alert.
"Kari?" A familiar feminine voice called. Kari relaxed.
"Seika?" Kari asked while tilting her head slightly. The woman in question walked out of hiding with a kind smile. Kari giggled and let her guard down at the familiar face. "How have you been?" She asked while walking back to camp, gesturing for Seika to follow.
"I've been well, how are you?" She asked. Kari hummed contently.
"I'm fine." She replied. The two talked for a while then a loud "thump" shook the ground. Kari immediately stood up while the rest of the group woke up abruptly. Soon a giant centipede came into view. Kari stood in front of everyone and got ready for a fight.
"I smell you." It hissed. Kari growled at its words. "I know you're near. Come out." Kari looked to the group behind her. Miroku and Shippo were holding Inuyasha back while Kagome nodded and Sango got ready for a fight. Chase trotted next to the girl and nudged her. Kari chuckled and nodded.
"Let's go." She stated then got on the dragon's back. Chase roared and raced towards the demon and head butted it. Kari then jumped up and kicked the demon's head. The demon staggered back and Kari took this chance to get a good attack in. "Metal dragon!" She roared. Her skin began to change into metal-armor-plate-like scales that were colored a shiny platinum and shimmering black detail, metallic bat-like wings, a long and sharp tail with a spike on either side of it, sharp steel colored claws, a few scales on her upper wrists curved upwards, causing the bandaging on her right arm to rip a little bit, and pointed ears that had a few scales pointing outwards from the rim. There were a few scales aligned with her collarbone that grew outwards while her hair gained steel colored tips with a few lines that went inward, starting thick but quickly got thinner. "Iron spikes. Scythe form!" Kari yelled and scythe shaped spikes formed on her back. "Reaper's wheel!" She then tucked into a ball and began to spin rapidly like a wheel and then she zoomed towards the demon and collided with its body, which was hard like armor. The demon was not harmed but Kari was not stopping, she kept going faster and targeting different spots.
"It won't budge." Miroku mumbled.
"WHY. WON'T. YOU. DIE?!" Kari growled, still hitting the demon rapidly. Eventually the demon hit Kari with one of it's legs and sent her flying through a few trees. The girl groaned and sat up while holding her head in pain.
"KARI, LOOK OUT!" Inuyasha called as the demon went to stab the girl's chest. He began to run in an attempt to save her, but he was not fast enough.
"ULTIMATE POWER WILL BE MINE!" The demon roared as it inched closer and closer to killing the child.
"Kari, close your eyes." A soothing voice called and a bright light surrounded the girl. The demon was turned into dust and the others in the group winced at the light. When Kari opened her eyes after a moment, she stared at the figure in front of her.
