Chapter Three

Zuko looked around at his friends and smiled. He hugged the girls and shook the boys hands. He stopped short at Jet and gave him a dirty look, he pulled his hand back and put it in his pockets. "Well thank you guys for coming, it's been a while since we've all been together" he said.

Mai picked up on the fact that he didn't shake Jet's hand and she assumed it was because he was Katara's boyfriend and Zuko was jealous. She didn't know that Jet hurt Katara. She gave Zuko a look and skipped Katara on purpose.

Katara noticed that Mai skipped her and she bit her lip. She could sense the tension between them and it made her uncomfortable. She didn't want Mai thinking her and Zuko had a thing. She felt Zuko's extra warm body engulf her and she hugged him back quickly before pulling away from the embrace.

Aang walked over to Zuko and Katara which broke the awkwardness. "Hey Zuko will there be vegetarian options ?" He asked.

Zuko nodded and messed up Aang's hair, he was still shorter than Zuko but Aang had some growing to do. "Of course they'll be. And I heard you and Toph are a thing? That's funny to me you're complete opposites" he shrugged.

Aang smiled sheepishly. "Yeah we're a thing if you wanna put it that way. But I'd prefer couple" he said.

The guards came and took everyone to their rooms. Zuko requested that Katara and Jet be put in separate rooms but Jet wouldn't let that happen. He said if that happened they were leaving and Zuko didn't want Katara to leave.

Katara and Jet got to their room and they walked inside. Jet placed down their luggage in the corner and turned to her. He kissed her cheek which made Katara cringe inside. "I don't like that Zuko wanted us in separate rooms...it's almost as if he wanted to try something on you" he whispered.

Katara sighed, she was tired of Mai and Jet thinking the two had some secret life together. She gave Jet a look. "Stop that" she demanded. "Me and Zuko don't have a thing. Stop assuming we do. I'm sick of it. And it's annoying, he's my friend. And yes I used to like him...let me repeat, used to like him. So if you could stop making a big deal out of everything that'd be great" she said walking to the corner shaking her head.

But the thing was she still did like him. Every time she was close to him she became nervous and uneasy. Everytime Zuko hugged her she wished it would last forever, she wished she was the one in his arms every night not Mai. She did not want to think about Mai and Zuko in bed together but now she was and it was upsetting. She could picture it all. But mostly she just pictured Zuko's body.

Jet shook his head. "You don't lie very well. Even if there isn't a thing between you two. I know you wish there was. You look at him the way you used to look at me" he hissed.

Katara turned around and looked at him furiously. "You mean before you turned into an asshole?! You mean when I used to love you?".

Zuko was outside their room the whole entire time they were talking because he was going around asking everyone if they wanted to play Pai Sho which he still considered to be a stupid game, but his uncle was coming and he wanted to see if anyone could beat him.

Jet grabbed her wrist. "So you do like him hmmm?" He asked rather aggressively.

And with that Zuko walked away rather angry but he didn't want to intervene and cause a scene. He tried asking the rest of his friends like nothing happened. Sokka and Aang wanted to play.

Zuko bumped into Sokka and grabbed his arm. "Sokka I need you to do something about Jet. He's being an asshole. Don't do it now of course because it'll cause a scene. But I can't do anything because Mai will suspect stuff between me and Katara"
