The water on the stove began to boil as I poured the box of noodles into the pot. They landed in the water with a splash, and slowly sunk to the bottom. It had been such a busy week. Emily got out of the hospital the day after she got in. She was currently visiting some friends here in London. We hadn't talked to each other much. In fact, I haven’t really talked to anyone but Niall. A few days ago we finally moved into our new flat together. Niall’s old one was just too small, so we got a new one in the middle of London. We had just finished moving the most of the things in. My stuff from L.A. had arrived, and Hunter was being flown out tomorrow. Niall and I were going to have a little housewarming party tonight, so a few of our friends were coming over for dinner.

“How’s it going?” Someone asked wrapping their arms around  my waist. I could tell that it was Niall. He had that warm presence, plus he was wearing the cologne I had gotten him for his birthday.

“Pretty good” I said. “The noodles are cooking, salad is made, and the chicken is in the oven” I said with a smile, satisfied of what I had accomplished so far.

Niall was hanging out at the table as the food finished. I put the pasta in a bowl like the one that the salad was in, and loaded the chicken onto a plate. My black flats were quiet as I walked across the glossy dark wood floors to the table where we would all eat at. Earlier I had set out plates, place mats, and silverware. Niall’s eyes immediately shot up when I set the food on the table. He began to reach for a piece of chicken.

“Niall!” I said slapping his hand. He looked at me confused. “It’s polite to actually wait until other people get here until you start eating” He looked at me once again, but this time it was like that was a new rule to his life.

“But I just wanted to try it out to see if it was….. good” He said, but it came out more like a question. I pretended to be fake hurt by his comment.

"You doubt my cooking?" I asked him, pretending like I was shocked.

Niall snickered. "The last time you tried cooking..... We had to put out a fire" He said.

"Hey, it was hard to make!" I protested.

"You were making toast!" Niall exclaimed with a laugh. I just rolled my yes, but couldn't help but laugh as well. My cooking had improved since then. While Niall has been in the studio I have been trying to occupy some time by learning how to cook.
