Chapter 41: Wedding

When we arrived at the church, Lindsey got out and grabbed her flowers from her sister. I got out behind her and followed.

As we stood outside the church, we heard the piano start playing here comes the bride.

I turned to Lindsey, gripped her hand, and we each took a breath before the doors opened. Here goes the wedding.

The procession started, her sisters coming in first and me second. We walked up the aisle, and went to stand in on our designated side.

I locked eyes with Steven, who was on the other side with Joe and the other two groomsmen.

Steven winked at me, and I blushed.

I looked down the aisle and saw Lindsey walking down, looking beautiful, with her dad on her arm.

Tears started to form as she and her dad parted, and Joe took his place.

The minister cleared his throat.

"Ladies and gentlemen, friends and family, we are gathered here today to join these two people together."

Lindsey was full-out crying as Joe gripped her hand as they started their vows.

As Joe read his vows to Lindsey, I couldn't help but glance at Steven. As if reading my mind, Steven glanced back.

I smiled to myself, and wiped away a tear as the minister said: "You may now kiss the bride."

Joe grabbed Lindsey, swooping her down, and kissing her.

Everyone whooped and applauded, and as Lindsey walked back down the aisle as Mrs. Perry, I couldn't help but think about how I might not ever be Mrs. Tyler.
