"Boo!" I jumped and practically fell off the bed. Me and Brandon lived in the same apartment complex and my bedroom window has a balcony directly below his. Whenever he can't sleep and he knew I was awake he'd come down. I looked back at my computer screen to see Josh looking annoyed

"You're so mean." I muttered and Brandon jumped on top of me and I couldn't help but laugh.

"But I love you Sammy." Brandon said laughing and tickling my sides making me wiggle underneath him. I heard Josh clear his throat and looked at him and he was pissed. "Oh hey Josh, didn't see you there." Brandon laughed and climbed off of me

"Hi Brandon." He said like his name was poison. "Now that our time has been ruined, I'll talk to you tomorrow Sam." The skype call ended and Brandon sat down on the couch on the other side of my room.

"Why are you with him? He's a dick." Brandon said and laid down. Don't have to tell me twice. Me and Brandon have been through everything together. He was there when my big brother overdosed and when my mom left.

He almost always knows how to cheer me up, except for when he doesn't know something's wrong. He grabbed my tv remote from the side table and turned on a movie.

"Are you okay?" Brandon asked looking over at me. I nodded softly. "No you aren't, what's wrong?" He said pausing the movie and joined me on my bed.

"Josh doesn't like you." I mumbled and looked at him. I've always had the biggest crush on Brandon, but he's my best friend, so I settled for the only guy that wanted me.

"So. I don't like him either." He said and softly played with my the hem of my blanket.

"Yeah but he doesn't trust me with you." I mumbled. He sighed and looked back at me.

"Should he?" He asked and we stared at each other for a second. But I broke eye contact.

"I mean yeah, you're my best friend." I muttered and he sighed again. "He knew that before we started dating."

"Yeah." He mumbled. The room got quiet and he pressed play on the movie again and moved back to the couch. I took off my glasses and put them on my end table.

I couldn't sleep I just kept looking over at him sleeping. I watched the sky turn from black to orange. My alarm went off a while later and Brandon groaned making me chuckle softly.

"We have school." I mumbled and he groaned again. "You have to go home. My dad will freak out if he finds you here again." I laughed.

He got up and disappeared out the window. I got ready for school and put on a pair of black jeans with a white sweatshirt before putting my glasses on. I put on my converse and sighed looking in the mirror.

I walked out of my room and saw my dad passed out on the couch. I grabbed my backpack and walked out to the stairs.

I met up with Brandon outside the apartment building and we walked to school. I cherish my time when I'm with him. I just feel free and safe around him.

We talked during our half hour walk to our school before we parted ways in the halls. I felt so alone and walked to my locker. I jumped feeling a hand lay on my waist and turned around to see Josh with an upset face.

"How was your night with Brandon?" He asked through clenched teeth. I kind of whimpered when his hand wrapped tightly around my wrist.

"Nothing happened. He's my best friend and that's all, I swear." I said in a weak voice. He kind of just scoffed and walked away. School went by painfully slow and me and Brandon walked to the cemetery.

"How are you doing?" He asked sweetly and wrapped his arm around my waist while we walked to my brothers grave.

"I just miss him a lot right now." I mumbled softly.
