(A/N) Happy (belated) Birthday, Mari :)

Coley's POV

"You played basketball?" Lauren asked from across the room, looking at a participation trophy I had from my childhood.

"For like one year, yeah. I wasn't that good at it but I was obsessed with playing." I told her, laying down on my bed and admiring her. God, she was so beautiful.

"You know, girls who play sports are kinda hot." She joked, walking over to the bed.

"Yeah, because I'm sure a fourth grade girl who was on a basketball team full of boys and girls who never got put into the game was super hot." I rolled my eyes.

"You were probably adorable."

"I tripped over a girl on the opposite team's foot and we both fell. In front of everyone. We weren't even running or anything." I said, sitting up.

"Well your mom already showed me your baby pictures the other day so I know for a fact that you were cute back then." She said, leaning over and kissing me. I smiled into the kiss and grabbed her hand, intertwining our fingers. I would never get tired of this feeling of being with her. It was the best feeling I had ever experienced with anyone romantically, and I never wanted it to go away.

She pulled back. "So there's no 'I can't believe my mom showed you my baby pictures' speech?"

"I'd rather be kissing you than ranting about my mom," I said, leaning forward and kissing her. She giggled and pulled away again, climbing onto my bed with me. We both fell on our backs onto the bed and I snuggled into her chest, taking in her scent and smiling. I felt her wrap her arms around me and laugh. We stayed like that in complete silence for a few minutes until she spoke.

"When did you know you were... gay?" She asked.

I looked up. "That was very random." I stated.

"Yeah, I know, but I was just wondering. Did you always know, like from when you were a little kid, or just recently?" She asked, curiosity overwhelming her.

"It was sort of recent. I became friends with a girl a few years back and I ended up falling for her. It didn't end well, though."

She frowned. "What happened?"

"She found out and she told me she was straight, then proceeded to get a boyfriend the next week and completely cut me out of her life." I said, looking down and playing with my hands.

"That sounds horrible. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up bad memories or something."

"No, it's fine, I've over it now. I'm over her." I smiled. "I'm with someone now who's a hundred times better than she ever could be."

She blushed, but quickly shook it off. "How'd you and Katie meet?"

I frowned at the sudden change of subject, but still answered. "We were paired us as partners for this English assignment in freshman year. We were the two quietest people in that class and our teacher thought we'd be good partners and good friends."

"Aw, that's cute," She smiled.

"What about you? When did you know you liked girls?" I asked her.

She shrugged. "I think I've always known. I always thought girls were really pretty, more so than the average straight girl, and one day it just kinda hit me that I liked them."

"So no dramatic love story?" I joked.

She playfully hit me in the arm as I laughed and sat up so I could kiss her. I felt her kiss back and cup my cheek with her hand, rubbing back and forth with her thumb slowly.
