Lauren's POV

"Ugh, I really don't feel like being here today," I said, groaning and covering my face with my hands in the passenger seat of Coley's car.

"I don't either, but then again, I don't think anyone does," Coley said, removing my hands from my face and holding them in her own, giving me a small smile. "Today won't be that bad."

"How do you know that?" I asked.

"Because I have a feeling that today is gonna be good. For both of us," She said, releasing one of my hands and intertwining our fingers together with the other one. Just hearing that from her made me feel better.

"Okay." I smiled and leaned over to kiss her forehead, making her smile too.

"I love you," She said, looking at me. I smiled even wider and leaned over once again to kiss her lips, and I felt her smile.

I pulled away and rested my forehead against hers. "I love you too."

She smiled and slowly got out of the car, me following behind her. We walked into school holding hands, which was something that I didn't want to do for her safety most of the time, but she refused to let other people control how we acted with each other.

"So, can you come over after school? Or does Christina want you home?" She asked, walking up to her locker.

"Christina actually went to California to see her boyfriend for the week, so I can come over whenever you want me to." I smiled and leaned against the locker next to hers.

"Great, because-" She stopped midsentence and groaned, "Ugh, I just remembered that I have a tutoring session with Amber after school. I'm sorry."

I felt a wave of sadness and jealousy come over me, but I quickly shook it off and gave her a smile. "It's okay, I can come over another day."

She smiled back and took my hand in hers. "Well, if you want, you could have dinner with me and my family tonight. It's always just the three of us, and I know they really wanna get to know you, especially my mom. The only time they ever see you is when you come over to hang out, but most of the time we're in my room or out doing something."

"Isn't Jake going back to college soon?" I asked.

"He was supposed to go back a few weeks ago, but he keeps saying he wants to spend some more time at home. I don't know why, but my mom isn't too thrilled about it," She explained.

I squeezed her hand. "Well, I'd love to come over for dinner tonight."

She smiled. "Great. I'll let them know." The bell rang for class, and she groaned. "I'll see you after class?"

"Yeah. Oh, by the way, where are you and Amber going to be for the tutoring session later?" I asked, almost yelling as the hallways got louder with people starting to rush towards their classes.

"She said she wanted to meet in the courtyard, why?"

"Just curious. I'll wait around in the library until it's over, okay?" I asked, pecking her lips.

"Sounds good," She said and smiled, walking away toward her first class of the day.

"Taking a break already, she said she forgot her phone somewhere so she went to get it. Just thought I'd say hi :)"

I giggled as I read the text from my girlfriend as I sat in the back corner of the library, smiling at how cute she could be. I sat on top of the small table and typed back a reply.
