"im so afraid of freedom," dan said, whistling along to the song.
"why?"
"because it's so scary," he replied.
"i know that," she blushed slightly. "but why are you so afraid of it?" there was a small silence.
"do you ever question why you exist?" dan asked, ignoring her last question.
"sometimes, i tend to," she admitted. "do you?"
"i'm starting to..." he thought about it for a bit. "i'm starting to realize all these things," he explained.
"sometimes, ignorance is bliss,"she smiled and pushed back his hair.
he smiled as well and she did that thing that dan had learned to love. she pressed the tips of her fingers against his dimples.
i've been told by the sky that the ocean i shall win. but it's hard for me to see where ocean stops and sky begins. random strikes of light remind me of what is true but right now the ocean's blacker than black, the sky is too.
