Chapter 5: A Confession With A Blessing
We were at the gates of the castle and I didn’t realize he stopped, and he pulled me back and whispered
“Wait! What are we going to tell your parents?”
“What do you mean; about the attack?”
“Yes, I don’t want to get in trouble with them and not be able to go out with you.”
“I’ll tell them after you left and tell them it was my fault, because I too don’t want you to get in trouble.”
“I can’t let you take the blame, that’s not right. We should just tell them the truth.”
“Yeah, I mean we can always sneak out to see each other.”
“Yeah, we could do that.”
“Ready to face them?”
“Yep, are you?”
“Yes, let’s go.” When we got into the throne room of the castle standing next to my parents (who were trying not to smirk) were ninja’s dressed in black! I quickly pulled Aaron out of the room and into the hallway
“Are you thinking what I am thinking?”
“That your parent’s sent those people to attack us, and they’re the reason you almost had a concussion?”
“Yes, and I remember that I couldn’t find my bow that’s why I didn’t have it. They must’ve taken it; it just can’t walk out of my room!”
“Yeah, you’re an archer?”
“I’m not too good in class, because of pressure. But I’m pretty good, not great, outside of class.”
“I can give you some pointers tomorrow.”
“OK, oh! We should get in there.”
“Oh yeah!” So when we got in, my parents stood up and told us to go in the dining room and sit down.
“So, we think you know by now that we know what happened on your date tonight, right?” my dad said
“Yes father, and may I say if I didn’t distract Aaron then I wouldn’t have been knocked out. Also, may I have my bow back that you took?”
“I noticed that, so Aaron you did your best, and you shall not be punished and you may continue to date my daughter if she wishes. You have my blessing, and yes daughter you may have your bow back, and what is your answer?”
“Yes, I like Aaron very much.”
“Thank you sir and goodnight I have to go home.” Aaron said
“Goodnight’” My mother, father, and I said. I walked Aaron to the gate I stopped him, gave him back his jacket and said
“So, what time are we going to practice archery tomorrow?”
“Um, how about first we run on the track very early get some breakfast in town then practice, and finally go to dinner.”
“Sure, sounds great, goodnight.”
“Goodnight.” He hugged me a little awkwardly; I guess this was his first date too. Then, I watched him walk through the gates and he turned around to wave. I waved back and walked up the front steps and into my room and showered, brushed my teeth, and went to bed.
