~Bella's POV~
"Hey, mom!" I hear Lauren's voice as she enters the house. I jump out of my chair and rush to the front door. She is my pride and joy.
"Hi sweetheart!" I reply hugging her. "Anything happen at school today?"
"Well, Mrs. Chains gave us a history lesson,"
"Well, I would hope, that's her job!" I see Lauren smile and I smile right back.
"No, it's about the sun exploding, within the next three days, I'm worried."
"Oh, sweetheart! Don't you worry about a thing, it's...natural to happen,....and the sooner it happens, the sooner you will see Bailey again, right?" I try to lighten the mood, but, bringing back her sisters death, doesn't lighten the mood very much.
"I know," Lauren walks over to a picture of Bailey and whispers something to it.
Oh, it makes me so sad to see her like this. Baileys death will always haunt me. I say yes, let her friends drive her to a party and a driver runs them over. She died when Lauren was ten. They were best of friends, Lauren and Bailey, and when Bailey died, Lauren acted as if a part of her died too. Lauren considered suicide, when she was 14. The pain of not being with Bailey got to her, she would do anything to see Bailey again.
"Don't worry sweetheart," I say to Lauren. I saw the picture of Bailey, one of her best. I feel tears brimming in my eyes. No, I tell myself I will be strong for Lauren. She needs me.
"We all miss her." We have a moment of silence and we each have our heads bowed. After a couple minutes, I decide it's enough.
"Here," I tell her. It startles her. "Go get ready, your dad is coming home early, we can all have a good family's night out, okay?" She brings a hand to her eyes and wipes away some tears. "Call him for me, okay?"
"Yeah," she says nodding. "It'll be fun, thank you."
I shoo her up to her room and then go back to Bailey.
"I miss you so much, but, I think we are going to see you sooner than we think..."Authors note:
