~Lauren's POV~
We arrived home from Family Night Out, and it was pretty fun. I headed to my room afterwards. My parents were acting very suspicious tonight, like something bad would happen. I went to my room and started texting my friends. The wifi signal went out and the house rattled. I fell off my bed and ran to my door.
"Mom," I yell from my bedroom. Another shake takes me flying to my bed. "What's happening?" I run down the stairs and see my parents crying on the couch, watching the T.V. "Is IT happening?"
"I'm so sorry sweetie," my dad says, sobbing "You don't deserve this." I plop myself next to my dad and hug him.
"Mom?!" I shout. I don't realize that I am crying until I feel the tears drop on my hands. "What is happening?"
"IT is happening," she says placing a hand onto mine "The end of Earth."
"The sun blew up?" I ask worried.
"Yes," my mom tells me gesturing to the T.V. I see pictures and videos of the sun, now a hundred large pieces of rock, flying towards Earth. There are pictures and videos of houses exploding and catching on fire. "It exploded into many large pieces, comets. They are flaming towards Earth."
"They have hit Japan, France, Australia, Germany and America." My dad sobs.
"According to NASA, Canada is next." I gulp, that's where we live.
"Do we know where it is going to hit first?" The glass shatters and we all duck under the couch.
I got my answer way sooner than I thought.Authors Note:
Hey!
I'm so excited about this story! This is actually the second last chapter! I think I enjoy writing shorter stories than longer ones, so let me know what you would like to read! I know it's pretty short, but I think the amount of suspense in it is A LOT! 😋
Thanks so much for reading!!!
