"What if it happens again, Ama," I ask looking towards the house. She shook her head. "Nothing, it's not going to matter, Calix loves you all the same." She says. I look down, but nod my head. Amatheia had to go home to her forest to check in with her parents and brothers, even if she's fought it for the last week. We hugged and said our goodbyes before she became a small floating light. She made a small circle around my head and took off into the forest. I smile and turn around, only for my smile to drop as I become face to face with Chelsea. "What do you want, Chelsea? I know you don't wanna go get our nails done and gossip, so why are you here?" I question her. "I have to tell you, Calix may have taken a liking to you, but my best friend is supposed to be his mate!" She yelled at me. She lunged at me and knocked me down. She whistled and a girl carrying a silver knife walked from the woods. I began struggling harder because I'm half werewolf, therefore, silver can be deadly to me, even if it's just a cut. Then, the girl was flug into a tree and Chelsea was flung to the wall of the house. They were then grabbed by guards and they drug the girls somewhere. My dad was walking behind them, but kept glancing back at me. Calix ran to me and knelt down. He pulled my into his chest and continuously whispered how sorry he was. "It's not your fault, Cal," I say, grabbing his face. "Yes, Ria, it is. I didn't come out here with you, and Chelsea and one of her little followers attacked you! With banned silver," he growled, tightening his hold on me. He picked me up and ran inside.
CRACK! The thunder was loud and the lightning seemed like it was right outside our window. "Calix, wake up," I whispered, shaking his arm. His eyes shot open and he shot out of bed. After looking around and making sure the room was clear of any danger, he looked at me. "Are you okay? What happened?" He questioned. I climbed into his lap and wrapped my arms around his neck. His arms wrap around my waist and he just held me as we listen to the rain hit the window and roof. The thunder cracked again and I tightened my arms around him. He chuckled and pulled us into a laying position. "Don't worry, Princess," he said, stroking my hair. "I'll protect you." The thunder just got louder over the next few minutes, so Calix spoke up. "I know it was probably just because you were scared, but you aren't a full wolf, you wouldn't die from it, why'd you get so scared? Not that I'd let them even give you a scratch," he asked rubbing my back. I took a deep breath. I was about to tell the prince of vampires why silver is banned from almost everywhere. "Before my mom was the Queen of everything, and before she was even mates with my dad, she had a mate named Chase. They would track and catch people who used the fake mate solution. That's how my mom met her sister." I began. His eyes widen when I said my mom had a sister. "One day, they, well my mom, got caught. The took her to this house and, in the basement, the poured silver down her throat. That night, when Chase found her and took her to a pack hospital, she lost her voice," I explain. I was honestly terrified of what that silver dagger could have done to me. "No, I've talked to your mom, she didn't loose her voice." He concluded. I shook my head. "My dad healed her as they are true mates and he is the king. That's why he banned it, he didn't want to take the chance that his mate and children could be hurt, as we were part were wolf." I explained. He looked deep in thought. "That doesn't explain why you were so scared, like you didn't trust that I would save you," he whispered, burying his head in my neck. "It's not that I don't trust you, Cal. I trust you with my life, I was scared because they had the power to take something important like talking or hearing or even my sight. They had an advantage over me that I couldn't control. I am the princess of all supernatural beings, I live in a castle and people listen to me, I'm not used to things being out of my control, so, when something was out of my control, I panicked," I tell him, pulling his head up to look at him. He pulled me closer to him and kissed me gently. "I promise, I'll always protect you with my life. Good night, my beautiful princess." With that, we both fell into dreamland.
