candlelit shrine

My heart was a reservoir
You siphoned fire from,
But the flames you took weren't enough
to warm the both of us.

I'm lesser now that I've caved,
And carved out an entryway,
An easy passage in my chest,
Through which you can navigate.

My body was a candle
You smothered from within.
Without your vigil, I am broken,
For in my skin you were woven.

I'm quieter now that I've laid
All my talismans at your feet,
But I fear they're only in your way,
So I'll clear for you a quick retreat.
