FLASHBACK

Tom's POV

"Who are you?!"

"What?" my dad spoke up

"I asked who you are! What are your names? Where are you from?" the stranger requested again, waving his rifle at us, another two had surrounded us on ethier side

"I'm Colin Smith" Dad replied reluctantly "this is my wife June and these are my boys Tom and Ethan" He looked over to me and my younger brother

"where ar."

"We're from Atlanta"

"well. Colin. from Atlanta. I'm Richard and I have good news" He released his grip on the rifle letting it hang from the strap over his shoulder "we have a community not to far from here and I'm offering you and your family refuge, we are currently 52 people, we have walls, a strong supply of food and water, weapons. You will have to participate within the community, keeping watch, going on runs, helping mainta.

"Roamers!!" one of men shouted, alerting us

"Take them out" Richard gave confirmation for the other two to open fire

Once the shooting had stopped Richard resumed "so are you coming with us?"

"Why do you take people in?" my mum questioned him

"It's us against them, living fighting the dead. Now are you in or not?"

"We're in" Dad confirmed

We'd been driving for about 20 minutes with Richards car in front, leading the way

I'm not sure we should be trusting this guy, he and his friends appeared from the woods and he pointed a gun at us

I looked over to find Ethan staring at me with a look of fear and confusion, I gave him a brief reassuring smile

"hey, guys look up ahead"

There was a big metal wall and a metal gate with rusted bars. Richards car came to a stop, we stopped behind him, they exited there car as we did ours. Richard looked forward as the gate opened, then turned back to face us.

"welcome to knightdale"

END OF FLASHBACK

I spotted something up ahead

What is that?

As i got closer I withdrew my pistol. It looked like a red container, it was a train-cart and a rail way track, I approached the track, my eyes scouting the other side of the woods.

Nothing

I turned back to face the train-cart, on it was sign.

'sanctuary for all, community for all, those who arrive, survive, Terminus'
