Carl's POV

"Hold it steady"

I was cut off by the officers carrying a stretcher, Tom instantly jolted his vision up

"I am, you're the one who's shaking it"

"Looks like your rides here" Tom referred to the stretcher

"I don't need that"

"Oh yes you do, I'm not having you falling over again, I might not be able to break your fall next time"

"I'm sure you would"

He smirked looking back down at me "I know I would"

His door opened and he stepped out, gently laying my head down, with the help of the officers, I was laid down on the stretcher and they carried me inside, it was up a lot of steps as well. Once up a few flights of stairs we reached a door, they unlocked it, opening up to a short corridor, I was carried into the first door on the left where I was laid on a bed, a hospital bed. One of the officers locked the door to the hall way and then entered the room shutting the door behind them, the other was getting something out a cupboard, Tom sat on the bed, put one hand on my head and the other held my hand.

"How you feeling?"

"Fine, quit worrying"

Tom's POV

Officer Miller took his right arm, cleaning his wrist

"What are you doing?"

"This will help ease the pain and swelling, it's also going to put him out for a few hours" she looked at Carl "You're going to feel a slight prick"

He gripped my hand tighter, looking at me whilst she injected him, I stroked little circles on the back of his hand whilst he drifted off, it only took a minute.

"How long you two been together?"

My face started heating up at the question, my body froze, I struggled to speak "We're not, um together".

"But you like him though, don't you"

"Yeah, I do, but how'd you know?"

"Because I see the way you look at him, it's the same way I look at her" officer Miller put arm around officer Brown, they exchanged a smile, it made me smile

"You should know that we've broken the rules by bringing you here and we have a bigger group than just the two of us, no one comes to this part of the hospital other than us, so you'll be fine here. We need to get back on patrol but we'll be back later tonight, just try and get some rest until then"

"Thank you officer Miller"

"Victoria"

"Thank you Victoria" with that they both left, leaving us alone but together, I closed my eyes, still sitting next to him, still stroking his hand "today was a good day, now we wait and see what tomorrow holds for us, goodnight Carl".
