Ember: A New Beginning

The hospital

"Ember" said what sounded like a young women in her twenties.Great it's my nurse... "Ember, sweetheart you have to wake up and take your pain killers." she said. "now?" I complained as I was waking up. I felt groggy and my eyes were heavy. "Rise n' shine cupcake we got a lot of things to do today." The nurse exclaimed. I liked her she had kindness in her voice. She was beautiful also. long flowing black hair with white streaks and blue eyes that seem to reflect the sky. But there was something off about her face, It bothered me and I couldn't quit pinpoint it. "Like what things am I doing exactly?" I questioned her. "Oh you know testing you on how you feel on certain things and how you react to other things and medical stuff yah know?" "No, no I don't know, do yah wanna know why?" I said "yes ma'm I do" she responded. "well" I started "I've never been through something like this, and I'm nervous. And not to be rude but may I ask what your name is if your going to be my nurse?" "Why of course you can. my name is Joanna." She exclaimed. "pretty name, Joanna..." I said thinking off in space noticing how close it was to my mothers name, Joan. oddly close to her name. "OW OW OW!!" I yelled as I accidentally scratched one of my burns. "Sweetheart! be careful!! here take you medicine it'll feel better when you take it" she said with kindness in her voice. I wonder if she has, or had children. She does have the calming voice and concern like a mother would. it would be odd if she didnt. "excuse me ,Joanna right?" I asked. "yes?" she said "do you have any kids of your own?" I questioned. "Oh no I don't. I've just been working with them so much I see the patients as my kids." She said. "Oh well I feel very very tired I'm going back to bed" I said tiredly. "ok if you insist but ill wake you up for the tests later ok?" "okay". I fell in a dream state that seemed to last forever....
