"Kira, you got a letter."
"Thanks!" Omen exclaimed as she received the letter.
She had disguised herself behind the name 'Kira Monrey' and hid her striking blue hair with black so as not to attract attention. However, she kept her orange eyes which humans had passed it off with the excuse 'eyes that are of the lightest brown'.
Humans, she thought, they always overlook the abnormalities until it was too late.
She gave one look at the embossed seal; a hardened green blob of wax with a symbol of a leaf imprinted on it. She tore the seal off while rushing up the stairs in excitement.
Dear Omen,
I hate to say this but your usage of magic was totally unnecessary.
Omen rolled her eyes. "Wow, first letter in a few days and you didn't ask how I am doing. I'm so touched."
The letter trembled before more words appeared.
Well, you are fine now, aren't you? Anyway, stop playing assassin, we all know that you aren't even good enough to be one.
"I am good enough to be one if not I will not be in the headquarters. Anyway Mike, you dump me in this place without warning me the landing place and boom. Look where we are." She retorted back, feeling a bit hurt by Mike's words.
Way to go with coming up that excuse.
I tried to warn you, but you hit that button before I could adjust the location and got yourself right at the assassin's doorsteps. Ain't my fault in there.
"Yeah. Yeah, it's all my fault, that's right. Oh, how's the rest of the Guardians? Have they woken up yet?" She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear nervously.
No.
Omen sighed. This was nothing new but there was always that lingering hope in there.
But their recovery is going very well. So I'm sure by the time you come back, they will be up and about and throwing you a 'welcome back' party.
Omen breathed a sigh of relief. She was afraid that the remaining Guardians would not make it with the extent of their injuries. She had feared that they would join the rest, who were instantly killed by Astorath in the Library, adding on to the devastating high death count. Not that she needed to be reminded that she was one of the few Guardians left, still active on duty.
She shuddered as she recalled the smell of death in there. A sharp pain shot through her heart at the memory.
I know very well what you are thinking.
Our friends' deaths will not go in vain.
We will find our allies and build up our power. Then we will defeat Dark Shadow and stop his plan from destroying everything, including Imagination.
Anyway, when's the ball?
"Quite soon. Although you think illusion magic is unnecessary, it is enough to rile up Ciel and alert Sebastian that we are here. By the way, what are we looking for again?"
Did you just forget?
Omen could imagine Mike giving her a look of disapproval. She couldn't help but give a sheepish smile while scratching her head in embarrassment.
Sigh.....
What we are looking for is the source of problem which the Library alarm pointed out.
