Introduction to 2nd Arc

Yes! Finally! I'm free from the 1st Arc. That was killing me slowly for quite some time.

As much as I wanted to use Sherlock Holmes' World as another central setting, I realised it is more fun to do it when Sherlock was at a younger age. When I read Andrew Lane's version of Sherlock Holmes during his teenage years, I was really excited to be part of Sherlock's life when he was learning the trades of deduction, disguise, etc and where he learnt to play his violin. (I often wonder whether my interest in violin was probably due to me trying to copy Sherlock but I figured it is a 'no' because I haven't started reading Sherlock Holmes when I picked up violin. Still, it's nice to know that you can play the violin like your idol though probably not as well. And yes, Sherlock is my idol. No one can ever beat him.)

Sherlock: I'm honoured, DarkWinter3.

DW3: It would be a greater honour if you exist in real life. :D

And since I didn't like the current me and feel extremely uncomfortable using my real name, Omen shall go in my stead. And this time, she is going alone because Mike is going somewhere else at the same time as her.

Mike: Killing 2 birds with 1 stone. I figured I could go find Albus to inquire about the substance that was concocted by Undertaker.

Omen: Who is Albus?

Mike (looks everywhere except her): I spy a wizened old man with a long white beard whose eccentric ways will befuddle you. Yet his wisdom is held in high regard by his people.

Omen: =__= That can refer to any old man.

Indeed, but which old man from which story has the name Albus?

Anyway, I'm challenging myself with a plot idea which you will find in YSH Prologue so I'm really nervous. I hope I don't do my favourite idol too much injustice. And I hope he doesn't mind. You don't mind right, Sherlock?

Sherlock: Not at all. I'm sure you will do well.

Mike: That's very reassuring. But how confident are you in entrusting yourself with DW?

Omen: Can you put a lid on your negative thoughts, Mike? That's really harsh. She's trying her best.

Mike: I'm sorry.

It is alright because creating a different Sherlock is like going against my 'godly' image of him. And maybe I won't do a good job out of it. But I'm ready to challenge myself for that. Can Sherlock be Sherlock if he no longer can do what he alone can accomplish? Can he rise from his setback? And will he even be better than before?

Sherlock Holmes

You know Sherlock as an adult but how about as a teenager? We are meeting him when he was 14 years old and is still learning to observe and work out his logical mind to solve the mysteries around him.

At the start of Andrew Lane's Young Sherlock Holmes book, Sherlock was just starting his school holidays when he was picked up by his brother. In the later parts of the series, Sherlock no longer went to his school and instead was home-schooled by a tutor that was hired by Mycroft and had to live in his relative's house in Farnham due to family circumstances.

Mycroft Holmes

For many Sherlock fans, you would know who Mycroft is. He is the older brother of Sherlock who works for the British. Like Sherlock, he is a very sharp individual who uses that ability of his for the good of the British.

In Andrew Lane's version, Sherlock has a close relationship with Mycroft.

Rufus Stone

An Irish violinist whom Sherlock has met in a cruise to America and had even taught him how to play the violin.

He doesn't appear until the 2nd book of Young Sherlock Holmes.

Matty Arnatt

A good friend of Sherlock who befriended him when Sherlock first came to Farnham. He was commonly known in that era as a street urchin. He lived in a barge with a horse called Albert and to find food for himself, he either steals them from the street markets or work for a bit of money.

Amyus Crowe

The private tutor of Sherlock Holmes who was hired by Mycroft Holmes. He is seen as a friend and father figure to Sherlock.

In the later parts of Andrew's story, Amyus was once the tutor of Mycroft Holmes.

Virginia Crowe

The daughter of Amyus Crowe and also a friend of Sherlock Holmes. She is a free-spirited and outspoken girl. And was described to be red-haired with violet eyes, tanned skin and had freckles.

If you have read Andrew's version, you will also know that in the later series, there was a possibility of Virginia and Sherlock being together. Unfortunately, circumstances pulled them apart and the ship sort of sank.

Well, I wrote down a basic summary of the characters that I may be using for the YSH Arc but there are probably more characters popping out depending on how the story goes.

But just to be safe, I will still introduce them along the way to avoid any confusion.

Okay, let's start!!(≧∇≦)
