The sun had set when Kagura had regained consciousness. The first thing she noticed is that she had been transferred to the couch. Upon realizing that their guest is nowhere near her, she panicked. She can't let her sister figure leave without her bidding goodbye.
She immediately got up to look for her. She first checked the dining area just to see that not a soul was present, her mood is slowly dropping until she heard the sound of knife hitting a chopping board. She peered through the kitchen and felt relief when she saw (Name) there, along with Gin.
She was about to call for them but as she watched them, she suddenly felt that they shouldn't be disturbed so she resorted into peeking through the door. She witness the happenings in the kitchen silently. (Name) was chopping some things while Gin's taking care of the rice.
(Name) suddenly yelped and reflexively pull her hand back, dropping the knife off her other hand to hold onto the injury.
"Is something wrong?" Gin asked, glancing at her.
"Oh no. It's nothing. Just a little cut," (Name) replied, smiling at him as an assurance. Gin studied her, not buying her smile. He walked towards her and took her injured hand to examine it. She flinched at the sudden action and tried to withdraw her hands but this only made the perm-head's grip tighter.
"'Little', it's bleeding," he stated.
"It's just a graze. No problem," she argued in defense and when she felt the man's hold loosen, she retrieved her hands.
"I'll handle this. Go patch yourself up," he demanded as he picked up the knife and took over her task.
"It's fine. I can still do it," she insisted but the other wouldn't budge.
"No. Can't have your blood mixing with the food, can we?" the man retorted and (Name) fell silent.
"Fine," she sighed in defeat as she withdrew to treat her wound.
Kagura, who was watching from the sideline, can't help but grin, finding them amusing. She also thought that they fit each other and to be honest, she wouldn't mind if they end up together. She suddenly thought of the possibility. Actually, she would want that, yes that looks too promising. Kagura was so lost in her trance that she wasn't able to sense (Name) staring at her.
"Um Kagura-chan?" she called and the redhead jerked at the sudden action. "What are you doing?" she added and Kagura stuttered, nervosity getting ahead of her.
"A-ah nothing. I just thought I-I should stay here so that I won't get in the way," the teen excused, finding it hard to look the older in the eye. (Name) hummed in understanding and Gin suddenly spoke from inside.
"Is Kagura awake now?"
"Yeah," (Name) replied, giving the silver-head a quick glance. When she brought her eyes back to the redhead, she can't help but notice.
"Kagura-chan, you're sweating a lot. Are you alright?"
"Y-yeah. Don't worry," she reassured but (Name) looked at her in suspicion.
"Are you sure? Are you not feeling well?" she asked again, voice lacing with worry.
"Idiots don't get sick. It's just the hot weather. Oi brat, go take a bath. You must be smelly now," Gin interjected. (Name) was expecting a witty comeback from the teen but got surprised when she obediently complied.
Kagura saw the opportunity and took it. She excused herself to do as she was told. (Name) stared at her and notified her.
"Dinner will be ready in 30 minutes."
Kagura, who was halfway up the stairs, yelled a prolonged "yes". (Name) went back to the kitchen with her finger patched up and spoke.
"That's odd. There must be something wrong with her."
"You think so? She seems pretty normal to me." The other replied.
"I see. Maybe I'm just over thinking too much."
Meanwhile in the bath, Kagura was beaming nonstop with her mouth submerged under the bath water. She had never felt so elated ever since her mom left. The more she thought about it the hyper she gets and the wider her grin grows. She can't help but feel as though she suddenly have a second family.
