Aisa's P.O.V
I pulled my coat tighter around me as I trudged through the snow. I had spent all day shopping for Christmas presents. People bustled through the streets, hurrying to get those last few gifts for their loved ones. I myself carried a mulititude of boxes for my friends. I went over my plan in my head with a smile, thinking of what had started it.
"So, you've never gotten a present from Santa?" Naruto nodded. "Not once." I pursed my lips. "Well, that's not fair...." He shrugged. "I'm fine. What do I need from some old fat guy anyway?" I could see that, behind his words, he once again felt set apart from everyone else. I smiled. "Believe me, he'll get you this year. No doubt." He smiled wide. "You really think so?" That sealed it. "Absolutely. I garuntee it."
So here I was. planning to bring back the magic to Naruto and the rest of the Leaf genin. I'd been watching for a while and found what each person would want most. I got two presents for each person. One from me and one from 'Santa'. My plan was to give my official gifts tomorrow when the genin all got together. But tonight, the night of Christmas Evev, Santa was coming to Konoha. That night, I snuck out and into the darkness. The streets were silent as the villagers slept. Once I verified no other presence, I called up the clones that would help me deliver my Santa presents. I went over the list in my head as I split them between my clones.
For Neji, a book of tactics for advanced ninja.
For Hinata, a special chakra storing necklace shaped like a butterfly. On the back were the words "Never give up".
For Ino, a special kind of flower not native to the Land of Fire.
For Lee, a scroll of taijutsu techniques.
For Tenten, a containment scroll full of specialized weapons.
For Kiba, a book on canine behaviour and some special treats for Akamaru.
For Shino, a ninja's guide to foreign insects.
For Shikamaru, a map to all the best cloud watching spots in the Land of Fire.
For Choji, a barbeque cookbook.
For Sakura, a book of little-known-things about famous ninja.
For Sasuke, a new resistant weapon pouch with the Uchiha symbol stitched on the front.
Even a gift for Kakashi, a first-edition copy of the first Icha Icha book (don't ask how I got it), and the Hokage, a medallion engraved with the fire sign on one side and the Leaf Village symbol on the other.
Lastly, for Naruto, a pendant engraved with the symbol for dream. On the other side, an inscription read, "If pictures are a thousand words, then dreams are a million. Follow your dreams. They'll take you anywhere."
I smiled at the last one and sent my clones out to deliver the presents. I took my portion and set to work. When I finally got back home, Naruto was in the same position as when I left. I changed back into my pajamas in the bathroom and crawled back into bed, pulling my blanket over me and giving in to sleep. When I woke, it was in the same way as every morning in the Leaf Village. I smiled and shook Naruto awake. "Wake up, sunshine. Don't you want to see what Santa brought you?" His eyes snapped open and he darted out of bed, dragging me with him. A long while later, and with Naruto smiling brightly while wearing his dream pendant, we departed to meet the others at the Hokage Tower. Naruto and I had convinced the old man to let us have our get together there. Ten minutes later and everyone was there, even the senseis and the Hokage, and talking about the mysterious gifts that they recieved. I let Naruto go ahead of me, as I saw the mistletoe hung in the doorway. He avidly joined the conversation, showing off his pendant proudly. I stood off to the side. Seeing everyone so happy, I knew I'd done the right thing. Only I myself would know the truth. For them, it was magic. Or close enough, anyway. I smiled at my fellow genin and joined everyone in the festivities. The day wore on and it was getting late. One by one, our friends left for home until only Naruto and I were left to finish cleaning up. Well, more like our clones did while we chatted. I sat on a windowsill and stared out at the snowflakes dancing on the wind. I turned to NAruto, who stood close by at the other end of the sill. We smiled, but he seemed troubled. He looked at me like he was confused. "Something wrong, Naruto?" "Ya... Santa didn't give you a present." I chuckled. "I already got my present, Naruto. My gift was seeing my friends happy. That's all I wanted." He smiled and we waited for our clones to finish cleaning. When they did, we turned to leave, completely forgetting what was in the doorway. We stopped just in the door and gave the room one more look to make sure it was clean. I felt NAruto tense next to me and looked over to where he was as he looked up. I followed his gaze and felt my eyes widen. Are you serious?! We looked down at eachother bashfully. I looked down at my feet. "Well, this is awkward..." What he did next, I never would have expected. I felt his fingers lift my chin so we were looking at eachother. He smiled softly. "I never back down from a challenge." With that said, he leaned forward and gently pressed his lips to my own. I stood there shocked for a moment. Then, automatically, my eyes slid closed and I kissed him back. We stood there for a while before we both pulled back. That night, we went home and went to bed as we always did. We never talked about the kiss and we never told anyone else. However, it was that night, as I once again lay awake, that I realized something that had been coming since I first met him. I had fallen for Naruto Uzumaki.
