4: New Meteli

Your P.O.V:

We all set off to New Meteli, but made and quick stop off at the old Meteli to remember good times. We kept moving and made it to New Meteli before night fall. Cadenza showed us where we would be staying. Laurance, the hooded man and Kenmur stayed with Cadenza's head guard Vincent and Aphmau, Emmalyn, Katelyn and I stayed with Cadenza's house. Emmalyn and Aphmau had and early night and me and Katelyn stayed up talking.

"So how long have you been a Shadow Knight?" Katelyn asked me. I started to count the years and went to answer.

"Around nineteen years, four years before you all went missing." I explained. Katelyn looked shocked.

"How did it feel when they told you people weren't going to come look for you?" She asked. I looked down at the ground upset thinking of that moment. "You don't have to-" I cut her off.

"I felt betrayed by Laurance and Cadenza, but apart of me knew they were looking for me." I looked up smiling.

"And we never stopped looking, but when Laurance disappeared I was ready to give up but Dante told me to stay strong and that you two would come back one day... and you did." Cadenza said coming up the stairs giving up and cup of tea each joining our chat session.

"You two continue the conversation I need to get some sleep." Katelyn said getting up with her tea and heading to her bed. "Night."

"Night Katelyn." We both said. We kept talking and asking question.

"So do you even sleep? You look like you haven't slept in a while." Cadenza asked. I looked away and thought about the last time I slept.

"We don't sleep really, but you should know this since Vincent is a Shadow Knight." I explained. She nodded and went to bed herself. "I am going to go for a walk see if I will get to sleep later. Bye Cadenza." I left the house and went to the nearest hill to the village to sit and collect my thoughts.

After a while of sitting there I felt tired and I went back to the house. I got to the house and headed upstairs and saw everyone fast asleep. I looked around the room and saw the craziest thing anyone would have ever seen. Aphmau was just sleeping and then poof she was gone! It was nearly morning so I decided to wake everyone up.

"Hey, um... I don't know exactly what happened, but Aphmau was here and then she suddenly disappeared!" I explained to everyone. They were looking around for Aphmau and sent out a search party to look for her in the village because she could have gotten that far. Emmalyn and I decided to stay back in case she appeared again. I was pacing back a forward more worried than anyone, probably thinking it was my fault she was gone.

"Hey calm down Y/N she'll be back. It isn't your fault, were as scared as you are." Emmalyn assured me. It turns out I was mumbling stuff to myself say it was my fault. I looked about over to Aphmau bed and she suddenly appeared again.

"APHMAU!" We both shouted to her running over. She looked very confused and we explained she disappeared from this world.

"I was asleep and I was with Garroth, but the weird thing is,ll1ll it all felt real." Aphmau explained. Emmalyn and I stood there in shock.

"I'll go get all the others." I stated before leaving.

'First Irene's Dimension then disappearing in her sleep... somethings up.'

Laurance's P.O.V:

I was looking round for Aphmau and then Y/N comes running over screaming she's back. I run straight to the house with everyone right behind me.

"Hey guys!" Aphmau smiled. We all looked at her, some of us annoyed and some relieved. I was both annoyed and relieved.

"WHERE DID YOU GO APHMAU!" I shouted. She was shocked at how much rage I had. "I'm sorry Aphmau I was just worried..." I apologized. I turned to see that two people were missing, it was Vincent and Y/N. I left to go see where they were and then saw them sitting on the hill talking.

"How long have you been and Shadow Knight for Vincent?" I heard Y/N ask. I walked closer to hear and ended up going to sit with them.

"I have been a Shadow Knight for a really long time. Lets just say too many years to count." He smiled while standing up. " I will leave you two to talk for a bit." Then he walked back to the village.

"What could he mean by that?" Y/N asked confused.

~Flashback to last night~

I was talking with Vincent and noticed Y/N walking by the house.

"You really want to be with her don't you?" He asked smirking. I turned my head and looked at him.

"How could you tell?" I asked still staring out the window. He stood up and went to another window.

"I met her in the Nether about two years ago and she wouldn't stop talking about going to find her two friends, Cadenza and you. I promised to help her look for you and protect the helpless people, one of the reasons I became Cadenza's Guard... and because I feel for her... hard." He explained.

"Heh, your as stupid as me. When I first met Aphmau I did the exact same thing, and look where it got me..." I laughed. I turned around and noticed he had gone to sleep. "I thought you didn't sleep..." I mumbled. I looked out the window and saw the sun coming up and Y/N walking back to the house. I knew she was okay.

~End of Flashback~

"I guess that makes sense. I am glad Vincent kept his word." She smiled looking out to the ocean. I saw the smile disappear and look very sad. She moved her knees to her chest and started to cry.

"Hey! Why you crying Y/N?" I asked giving her a hug. She cried even more and started crying into my shoulder.

"I just remember sitting at the side of the ocean with my family and look out say were'd always be together. They said that the day before the village was burnt down and I believed it and they aren't here now. I wish I could stop them from dying." She explained to me. I felt upset from her and wanted to help her but I didn't know how.

"You realize if you saved them, you could have died instead and we would have never met. I wouldn't be able to stand not knowing who you were or knowing I never met the most beautiful and kindest girl I have ever seen." I smiled. She looked up at me and smiled. I knew she understood. I was about to get up she grabbed me and pulled me close. She suddenly kissed me and I was amazed that she would make the first move. She opened her eyes and smiled.

"I love you Laurance." She whispered into my ear.

"I love you too Y/N." I whispered back to her. We sat there for the rest of the day talking about our past and what might happen in the future.
