“So what was that about?” Michael asked when we left school.“You know that dream, where there was a new boy called Rhys?”
“Yeah.”
“Well he was the first year.” I watched as Michael thought this through and then he laughed. “I’m not kidding!”
“I know you’re not!” He stuttered. “It’s just hilarious how that could come true!” I gently watched him on the arm as we stepped out of the gate.
“Marcus!” I heard a voice yelled. I turned around and saw Rhys running towards me.
“Rhys!” I smiled as he hugged me. “You okay?”
“Yeah. I saw you with-” He stopped. “Your brother? And I wanted to say hi.”
“Are you Rhys?” Michael said, looking down at him. Rhys nodded. “I’m Michael, Marcus’ twin brother.”
After we left the school and Rhys went the opposite way I turned to my brother.
“That was good, wasn’t it? You met Rhys.”
“Yeah. He’s nice.” I smiled and started to run.
“Can’t get me!” I yelled, taking off towards the house.
“Really?” I heard a voice say and Michael started to run too. I laughed and ran faster and faster.
“Boys!” Dad yelled as we fell through the door, shrieking with laughter.
“Sorry dad.” We mumbled.
“You should be.” He growled. “Mum has very important guests over and they are staying for dinner.”
“Yes dad.” We chorused.
“Just go upstairs and get changed.” Dad sighed, running a hand through his hair. We charged up the stairs and into our room, laughing.
“That was brilliant!” Michael giggled.
“Yeah.” I smiled. We got changed into a shirt, black trousers and tie and then walked downstairs. I had made sure we were dressed and looked identical just so we could have some fun.
“So, Marcus.” The man sitting opposite said to my brother. “What is it like to have a brother who looks just like you?” I had to put my hand over my mouth to stop myself laughing.
“Well, it’s good. Michael can be a bit of a pest but it’s okay since I can predict the future.”
“MARCUS!” Dad exclaimed. “You can’t just go round and say things like that!”
“Anyways.” The lady said. “How do you tell the difference between them Katie?”
“I can always tell the difference between my boys, unlike the rest of the world.” Mum sighed. “And Michael, stop doing impressions of your brother!”
The man and lady stared at Michael and burst out laughing. “So you are Marcus?” He said, looking at me. I nodded. “So what was Michael talking about ‘predicting the future’?”
“Oh. I just have vivid dreams.” I mumbled, looking down. Michael grabbed my arm and made me look at him.
“You okay?” He mouthed. I nodded and sent him a smile. Brothers; always worrying about stuff.
