"Zahra? Are you mad?"

Zahra stops in her track, turning around to stare at Rayyan's dark brown eyes. She melts at the sight of it, but she won't let her guard down just because of those eyes of his. What he did was bad. "What do you think?"

     "Come on, it was just--"

     "Shut up."

Zahra turns back and walks away. Rayyan doesn't give up. Or on Zahra, he probably won't. He follows her from behind, aware of how irritating he is. But he can't let this girl mad at him, especially over something like this.

Rayyan chuckles. "Okay, fine. It was a mistake, okay? I didn't do it on purpose -- heck, I didn't even know it was Uncle Rafiq in the picture. I was just trying these new matches Saad gave me for the molotovs. I'm sorry, okay? It's not that big of a deal."

Zahra stops again, and turns to glare at her friend. It scares Rayyan a little, but it doesn't matter. Growing up with her, Rayyan learned to get used to it -- to those terrfying glares of Zahra's -- because Zahra glares at him practically all the time. He knows he won't ever get used to it, though. It's scary, especially the fact that not everyone in the world would know how it feels to have someone with multicolored eyes to glare at you.

"What?" Zahra asks in disbelief. "I dare you to say it one more time. Say that it's no biggie!"

Rayyan sighs. Zahra knows he won't do it, she would kill him if he does. Well, not actually kill him, but she would give him silent treatment for ... at least a week.

But Rayyan can't live without her, so he won't let that happen.

"You freaking burned the picture of my uncle! And he's dead, Rayyan, he's freaking dead! It's not like I could take another picture of him!"

"Okay, listen. First, I didn't do it on purpose, so it's not my fault. I didn't know it was Uncle Rafiq in there, I said that already, didn't I? I didn't even remember where I found the picture. Second, you have another picture of him, so stop overreacting. Third, my dad died when I was still in my mother's womb and I don't have any picture of him. At all. And you see, I'm alright although I've never seen him in my entire life!"

     "Shut up, you--"

"Nuh, uh. Do not swear, princess," Rayyan smirks seductively.
