"Rayyan?"

Rayyan snaps out of his thoughts, staring at the guy next to him. The guy's face is covered with balaclava and is holding a gun behind his back. But Rayyan isn't afraid at the sight of gun, not anymore. And Rayyan knows, the guy is here for a  reason, which is not to kill him. Ahmad won't betray him, Ahmad won't betray them.

     He definitely won't.

"Yes?" Rayyan asks, turning his head away to gaze at the ground. Ahmad's eyes are scary, although Rayyan has seen them his entire life.

"You zoned out. I asked you," Ahmad whispers. "How are you? How are the twins? How's your mother?"

"They're ... good, they're alright, actually." Rayyan forces a small smile. "Us too; my mother and I. You know, we're all ... we're all surviving."

     Silence.

"Through what?" Ahmad asks as if he doesn't know.

Rayyan sighs. "Through those same old things. You know, hunger, pain ... financial problems, and some another things."

"The twins isn't one of those problems, right?"

Rayyan lets out a sad chuckle. It's been days, but Ammar and Umar are still in bad terms with each other. Ammar is trying to survive fighting with himself, everyday is just a battle for him, and Umar is too annoyed to have a twin brother like Ammar. Umar is also pissed at the fact that he can't yell at Ammar for sulking too much. Rayyan can't bear dealing with the two of them anymore. He hates that he's the one who needs to be strong in this situation. Why won't Ammar just smile and be thankful that he's still breathing? Why won't Umar opens his eyes and realizes what his brother is going through?

"Uh oh," Ahmad says. "Sounds bad. What is it this time?"

"Honestly, Ahmad, I'm now too tired to care," Rayyan sighs. "Just the same old thing, you know? Ammar's wanting to die, and Umar's wanting to kill Ammar, and I'm wanting to blow this place up if they don't shut up. I swear I'm tired and they keep driving me crazy."

Ahmad smiles sadly. "I know. May Allah give you all the patience."

"Ameen." Rayyan says automatically without thinking twice.
