A loud bang echoed around the Gryffindor common room. Some jumped, some looked up from their book, some got annoyed, some doesn't care.

Your tear stained face buried in the pillows, you sobbed your eyes out as you thought about James' infidelity.

He caused this. He's the reason why you're in that state. He cheated. He cheated on you.

I love you so much.

His voice rang through your head. He sounded so sincere. But then, he covered it with sugar, fed you lies until you just broke down and helplessly cry rivers.

I'll never leave you.

But he still did, and gave your heart a nasty cut. A nasty cut that made you like a mess that can't be fixed again.

I'll never, ever hurt you.

His sugarcoated words came out of his mouth like a waterfall. Rapidly flows, and quickly fades. Sweet nothings that completely made you fall for him were just nothing.

I'll fight for you.

Love is war and you are losing. Your soldier is betraying you, leaving you around to battle your demons. Leaving you around so he can escape for his own good.

Sniffling, you wiped your tears with your hand. Your puffy eyes showed a dull, and empty depths, just like James' faith in you.

Soon, the doors opened, revealing the man who broke your trust in him.

"[Name]?"

He called, peeking through the cracks of the door.

You never answered, as you knew that this is going to be a bad decision. A shouting match, tears flowing, denial of deeds, and lies are all you can predict that will happen.

A hiccup went out your throat. Cursing yourself, you laid down your bed and covered yourself in your sheets.

James persisted. He spread open the door, letting himself in.

"No, stay away, Potter."

Tears welled up in your eyes, leaking down and falling down your wet pillow.

"Please, let me explain."

You felt his hand run down your back, moving up and down, feeling that he could comfort you.

Instead, you felt disgusted.

"How dare you, Potter? Those exact hands that held Evans are what you used to comfort me? That exact mouth that kissed Evans spoke to me with that nonsense, feeling that I will feel better with your lies? How dare you, Potter?"

You said with hate, moving your body away from him.

"[Name], please. Let me explain."

"No, James. There's nothing you need to explain. I've seen it all. You and Lily snogging each other, and you enjoyed it."

James shifted at his seat. He ran a hand through his messy hair in frustration.

"I-I don't know what happened... I just saw her coming up to me and muttered something... Maybe a spell... Then I saw you in front of me and I was greeted by a kiss. I really thought it was you that I am kissing, so I kissed back, but it's not. It was Lily."

"You are lying."

You croaked from your pillow.

He sighed, knowing that he cannot explain it to make it clear to you.

"You know I am not that good at lying, [Name]. You know I always get beaten by my laughter before you believe me."

"Then tell me a lie, Potter! Tell me a lie!"

You bellowed out, tears still flowing.

James sighed louder, and said,

"Fine! I give up. I actually don't love you, [Name]. I don't need you. I don't want you. I'm tired of you so I just kissed Evans. I kissed her because I don't love you!"

Each word stung. Each word did hurt you a lot. You choked back a sob and buried your face on your pillow.

"Then go out! I-"

James interrupted you. He held your hand and whispered.

"See? I am bad at lying."

This stopped you. Frozen, he lifted you up and cupped your jaw, capturing you in a kiss.

You kissed back, feeling his hands wiping your tears and your hands snaked around his neck.

He deepened the kiss, filling it with passion.

You two parted, and he held you in an embrace.

I love you so much, [Name]. I really do.

Hearing this mended your heart, fixing all the damage his lie caused you.
