"Have you talked to Mike?" Cerise asked as I looked at all the make-up Sally's had to offer. I shook my head. "Really? He said the other day he was gonna call you."
I stopped and looked at her. "When did you talk to him?"
"The other day. I saw him at Target," she said. "He told me he was gonna call you and see if you wanted to hang out."
I shook my head again. "I haven't heard from him."
"Are you okay with that?" She asked?
I turned and looked at her straight on. "Why wouldn't I be okay with it?"
"I don't know, I mean, I knew you liked him, so I just figured…" she shrugged and stared at something behind me. I turned and was greeted by two white-contacted eyes and the sexiest man to ever walk this planet.
My mouth fell open slightly and I'm pretty sure I should've been drooling. He looked so incredibly sexy that I wished the store was empty right at that minute and I wouldn't go to jail. He grinned at me and I felt the muscles in my stomach clench.
"Hey beautiful," he said, smiling down at me.
Funky noises came out when I tried to say hi. I clamped my mouth shut and looked at my feet, embarrassed. Mike chuckled and cupped my chin, making me look up at him.
"This is where I'll be taking my leave," Cerise said and walked away. I heard her chuckle. My gaze never left Mike's.
"Why haven't you called me? Or texted me? Or something?" I asked.
He groaned. "I didn't want to seem too eager."
"So you wait five days, not three weeks," I said, rolling my eyes. "I'm not the dating kind but I at least know that."
He raised his draw eyebrows. "Oh, so we're dating now?"
"Well, no, that's not what I meant," I said, getting embarrassed again, but I couldn't bring myself to look away from him. I felt like he was reading my soul.
He laughed. "That's too bad; I wouldn't mind having you as my girlfriend."
He stepped around me and started walking. Did he really just say that?
I laughed, trying to act cool. "Oh shut up. We still need to go on a few more dates before we make anything official."
"Then let's go."
"What do you mean?" I asked all amusement on my face gone.
"Let's go on a date. I mean, I wanted to see if you could chill anyways, and it doesn't have to be a date date," he said, his hand finding mine.
I groaned. "I'm not dressed like I’m ready for a date."
He stopped and looked me up and down. "You look beautiful."
I blushed as he pulled me out of the store, just assuming that I wanted to go on a date with him. I'm not saying I didn't though. How could I say no anyways?
